The patch took HOURS.
So then I tried playing vindi and the patch started again, finished in two seconds, restarted, etc. etc. etc. I tried restarting vindi. Still didn't work.
What the duck.

I tried re-patching it. Whenever I click on Vindictus it shows the patch screen that fills up after a second and says 'Complete'. Then I click 'play' and it repeats.
