o.O
I'm considering ranking WG and I'm wondering if the update is so epic that I should start ranking it ahead of time.

...
You can already use Taunt with Wind Guard...
But seriously, only Windmill?
I'm feeling kinda down but thanks anyways.

The skill is not the best. In my opinion you're better off in spending that AP into Adv Magic. Wind Guard is too limited. Sure, you can attack enemies while they do very low damage to you, but once you KB them with a combo attack they might just stand back and load skills and take forever to get close for you to attack them again, also if you're lagging the enemies sometimes are able to attack you but you cannot attack them since your client lagged and sees the enemy further away. Taunt does not grab the attention of high damaging enemies (e.g. Peaca, HM Dungeons) so it isn't too much useful in protecting party members. The load time is also a bit too long, you can't even do WM>WG when you're multiaggroed. All in all it's better to invest the AP in Magic unless you want more HP.

The ability to use windmill only means you lose out on the tanking aspect while kncocking everything out of range at once. Your partymates can't make use of the skill either if you WM everything away.
The skill either needs a damage boost added or the immobility replaced with less mobility.

i have to agree, wg is very limited and most of my weapons are out of range when i try to attack it would be good if you could move some or get a better boost from it but it is a skill worth ranking IMO. it would be a great move if you could hp pots or stam pots while using wg. maybe if they tweaked it some more added more range or maybe added more def then it would be a better move but those are just my preferences.

Well apparently, Wind Guard gets a boost again with the Giant Renewal update of G12S2.
Dunno the specifics though.
Good move for fighting something in a corner, I guess. And if you got someone to heal you as you Windmill, it's useful.
But yes, it definitely need an upgrade.

after using it a few times i was really underwhelmed it felt like a waste i mean in alby basic hm i can take the giant spiders alone taking maybe 10-28 dmg but its not a skill that stands out in my arsenal. i needs something better a real catch you know? i mean sure you cant be moved by almost anything you take little dmg you get massive prot and good def boosts but if thats it all i have to say is meh. ._. the taunt + wg combo is ok for basic dungeons or for trying to tank alot of small foes at once or to give your partners breathing room (if i using it wrong please tell me) but still its not a skill that stands out if this was ment to be the giants version of a "Final" attack its really lackluster IMO. i still use it for the hp and will increase but thats about it. :/

I really would like to know what improvements were made in the g12 update concerning wind guard and taunt...there's been literally no mention of them.

I haven't heard anything about Wind Guard being improved, but
Taunt gets uncapped in G12S2 (more strength for us). Taunt uncap makes it possible to Taunt Higher CP enemies, not sure how high but I believe it was around 4000 CP maximum.
