went to a beautiful place and took many, many photos. here's two good ones that my brother processed for me, I borrowed his nikon d90.

I like the first one a lot. It seems like you captured some frozen moment in time, just by how everything looks so still (har har, I mean were it not an image) and peaceful. Though it is a tad hard to tell if you were focusing on anything in specific.

As for the 2nd one; it's very lovely. It's a very good shot as-well, in how you managed to catch the single important thing and shine it in the light considering everything else is blurred. It really adds a lot of focus to the butterfly only and adds a sort of "LOOK AT ME SIGN" feeling.

thank you for the kind words. I'd love to see your photography if you havn't gotten rid of them. I think it's a beautiful form of art.

and since everything is in focus in the first pic, it is indeed hard to focus your eyes on one spot. I was hoping for it to be around the butterfly feeder thingy.

blurring does indeed do wonders. though, I've tried to get some in flight, but they always got motion blur (and not the good artistic kind). One of my goals is to get one sharp and in flight, but that'd need a very fast shutterspeed and large aperture. maybe one day ;_;

I really love the second picture.
The blurred leaves sort of look like a pattern, and the clear flower branches that the butterfly is on combats it nicely.

For me the butterfly feeder and the bush right next to it are the main focus. They both conflict though >_<

Well, you can at least like or dislike it. :D
I'm no artist, but I can still point out what I think could improve something, or just give my opinion. That's what I do when Adelynn posts stuff. Mostly just "Wow, I really like that." Things like that.

Opinions are just as great as critiques!

ok ok ok, they are good pictures, if it was a giant tarantula eating that butterfly i would give you a 10/10 but its not so 9/10

d80 is perfectly fine too. you should share your photography! I bet you're not as bad as you think you are, people are their worst critic.
The lens is a nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G, it's good for the price, but unfortunately not good for macro shots. I'd love to get up close and personal to things.
