"We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day."
Six childhood friends grew apart in high school. One of them is Jintan, now a shut-in. He gets a request to fulfill a wish for Menma, the only one of their friends to have stayed the same over the years. In order to grant her wish, he will have to find and reunite their old friends.

Very long name, AnoHana for short. Two episodes have aired so far. This is my favorite anime so far this season~ Some of it hits close to home, makes me sad :c
What do you think of it so far? (if you've watched it)

A very a good series, latest episode... twas sad.
"Menma doesn't want to go to heaven, so stop trying to, she just wants to spend time with everyone!" Thats what I woulda yelled at Popo to stfu at the end of the episode.

Trying to predict the ending couples in this show is ridiculous
Unless no one gets together with anyone ... but how boring would that be D:

Slice of life shows revolving around multiple romantic interests tend to establish intrigue--and only intrigue. It's clear who's into who, but I don't think the series will go there, which is a shame, because not many do go there and do it well. Especially in anime. Note, I am in no way confusing the usual harem formula with the romantic interests of slice of life.
But, the love pentagon established in this show is certainly intriguing--there's that word again. I'm really just waiting for the twist where Menma confesses that the one she actually liked was Poppo, just to turn this into a love hexagon. Then again, I'd also be waiting for the reveal where the very child-like, spontaneous and generally non-serious Poppo says that he has liked Menma all this time, turning our love hexagon either into a love pentagon with a line sticking out of it or 3 neat and tidy love lines.
What I do predict is that the next arc is going to deal with Anaru and her so-called "friends." That's just been begging to be dealt with for awhile now, and even more so after the events of episode 5. How much you wanna bet there will have been rumors spread around the school about Naruko even though her friends and the guy know absolutely nothing happened?

Double-posting instead of editing only because this is in relation to the current week's episode.
In relation to my last post--I totally called it.

Touching episode, so that must really be her true wish i guess. I'm assuming Jintan didn't even know the rocket? If not, we're still missing something...

I doubt it's her true wish. It's too early for that resolution to take place, and the "wish" was also initially one for Yadomi's mother when she was still alive. Also, Menma's continual tendency to say "Whoa, you're right! That must have been my wish, Jintan!" makes it less convincing. They also didn't read the diary thoroughly, and there's still the missing piece of the puzzle regarding what Menma really called everyone to the clubhouse for the day she died.

I was just assuming it because of the name of the episode.

Episode titles can be intentionally misleading. If I were to title episode 1 of a 50-episode series "The Final Showdown" and the show wasn't set up for everything after that to be a flashback, then that doesn't make it the final showdown.
Besides, no matter what the title says, it's the content of the episode that conclusions are drawn from. Truthfully, I believe the title is foreshadowing that this is where they start coming closer to finding out Menma's true wish, since it's her mother (sister?) that shut down the fireworks idea.
After giving them the diary in the first place. Which implies that when she heard what they were doing she already knew why (ie. she'd already read the diary). This, coupled with the slightly cryptic things she said at the end of the episode means we're probably about to start seeing what Menma truly wanted, both what she wanted the day she died and her wish, as well as whether or not both are the same or at least connected.
