Pika plans in the future to buy more RAM due to it being currently insignificant (2 Gigs). Pika plans on expanding to 8 Gigs at most (Though that will be expensive), but an issue appeared. Pika's Hard drive is running out of space, with only 50 Gigs left. Pika is thinking of either buying a Terabyte Hard drive or just delete unnecessary programs to make room and buy more RAM.
Which would be more beneficial to Pika?

So it's not possible for you to get both?

Get a 4G ram or 6G ram if that's possible and get an external hard drive.

RAM; learn to manage your space hoe. And burn **** you don't need, but might need sometime later.

RAM is better since you can delete stuff on your hard drive to save space.

My comp has 60 gigs and I've never used half of it.
What the hell are you doing?
If you've got anime, pour them into discs. If you've got old games, remove them.
Lay off the pron.
Saves money.
Buy Ram.

Make sure you're on 64bit before buying more RAM. If you're on 32bit your limit is under 4 gigs.
Get a solid state disk and stick your page file onto a partition of it, that's a good substitute for RAM and at the same time you'll have some more space. make sure the disk is single layer, multi layer will die fast.

Pika should buy RAM. Just stream your pr0nz, don't download it!

A 1 terabyte hard drive?
Pfff, I'd rather pay my BF to build me a computer with 1 terabyte and 10gb of RAM.

1. You don't know what you're talking about.

Or you could read an instructions manual and learn to do it in 15 minutes. Its like putting together legos.

Why would you want 10 GB of RAM? are you going to be running a database server?
Even 8 GB is overkill for most home setups, with a 64bit system, 4 GB and a good page file configuration you're set. Unless you're working on very huge multimedia projects like special effects rending for movies Dx

Pika heavily mods Pika's Fallout 3. As in, so many mods that it lags like hell in Medium Quality, and Fallout New Vegas is coming out so Pika wants to mod that too. (Also L4D2 online keeps lagging on Pika and Pika ends up getting raped by a Tank and a Jockey by the time the lag fest ends.)

This sounds like a good idea so far to Pika, Pika just has to rummage through the files in Pika's comp and find the unneeded ones :v

But all the RAM in the world will not help if your graphics card, processor, and hard disk seek-time isn't enough.
2 gigs is low, so upgrading is a good idea, but 8 gigs is overkill if the rest of your hardware can't even make use of it.
If you're got an i7 and one of thenewer high end graphic cards, and a hard drive dedicated to your operating system, then consider 8 gigs "just because you can". But throwing RAM at a computer doesn't solve all the problems.
