Well tax returns are due in... 2 days starting now. And curse the jerks who didn't give me my W2's until today.
Now that I finished my 1040EZ, I need to file it before April 15th. Which seems impossible.
If I hand it to the post office now, will it arrive in time? Or maybe its alright if it doesn't because I mailed it before April 15th? Should I drive 2 hours and go hand it in?
There are no specific details as to what kind of penalties I'll face if its a day or two late, but since I only made about 2200 dollars last year doing this and that, and my tax return sits at around 150 dollars, it doesn't seem like there should be a huge fine or anything.
Anyone with experience with struggling against the IRS have any suggestions? Otherwise I'll just drop this off tonight at the post office (which is closed for the night. Poop.)

Apparently there's loopholes in tax 'laws' which make it so taxes like the kind you do with the IRS don't need to be paid and technically are not even considered to be law. I dunno how much of that is accurate but if I were living there I'd totally research it.

Don't file it and claim you didn't get the forms. Ever.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here... The IRS owes ME 150. But there are huge fees for forms that aren't filed.

Just send the forms in. I think the IRS allows some time for late-ish forms to arrive. Postmark date is important though.
