Companies like PETA piss me off so much. I understand their cause, but they bring it to an extreme.
Lol I know so many people who say that, and they're usually misguided @_@
PETA = what happens when someone who is absolutely insane (Newkirk, killed "at least a thousand" animals with her own two hands, as she said herself) gets too much power and followers. Their goal of total animal liberation includes - forcing veganism on the country by helping pass laws that make eggs, meat and milk more expensive, outlawing and destroying (yes, killing, this is why Newkirk killed animals at her old job and why they do it today) animals kept as pets, to halt any and all animal research - even the kind that means dogs are sampling different foods, and to outlaw and destroy any products which contain animals somewhere along the line. Their bottom line is to guilt you into believing they want what's best for the animals, when in actuality, they want you to feel bad enough to 1) give them money, 2) give them money, and 3) not only take up veganism, but force it upon those around you. They do this by staging videos, or taking them out of context, and by warping data. They make money off of naivety.
The biggest thing though is that they're moneymakers, just like many other "animal rights" groups. Many of these kind of "non profits" have millions more in revenue than something like, say, a shelter or legitimate animal rescue, and many of their members fail to practice as they preach. It's just a bunch of people sitting on a high horse, looking for a reason to feel important and an excuse to judge others. If you want good intentions, look at your local shelters, rescues, rehabbers, sanctuaries, etc. The people who REALLY care about animals lose out on a lot of money because of the extremists, and we get a bad rap because caring about the world around you automatically = petard to some people.
X_X Its so sad.
