so i've tried three times now to reinstall mabi.
the first time the installer crashed.
fine, whatever, no biggie.
so, i try again and this time, once it's finished installing, it tells me the installation path is invalid and won't start.
i try it a third time and, again, i get this error.
what is it and how do i fix it?

Try installing under a different name?
Instead of C:\Nexon\Mabinogi, try C:\Nexon\Mabinogii or something.

Try a different install directory: C:\Program Files\Nexon or C:\Program Files\Mabinogi.

Don't use the pando installer; use the the wizard. (The old fashioned way, it's a small link in fine print under the pando download)
When it asks you where to install the game to, install it to C:\Program Files\Nexon.
And maybe delete any remnants of the game files you have in the Nexon folder (not the Mabinogi folder in My Documents). I don't know if this will do anything, but try it anyway.

Edit: Also, if i can't download/cbb to download mabi all over again, i get a copy from my neighbours. If you have friends/neighbours who have a working client, copy and paste it into wherever you wanna put it on your computer. Simple, so it should work :D
