Never watched DBZ. Looks boring. First anime I watched was probably sailor moon in the early 90s...

the worst part of DBZ is how long each fight is
takes like 1 episode to charge an attack >w>

You mean 3. At least with the Frieza saga. The DBZ manga>>>DBZ anime.

I lived and breathed DBZ as a kid. I watched a few episodes recently... Man, those fight scenes take a while.

Absolutely everyone I know who grew up with me loved DBZ, doesn't matter if it's an anime or a cartoon.
The black, the brown, the yellow, the white, the green, everyone xD.

Why do all mainstream shounen have craploads of pointless dragged out fights?. Bleach was awesome and funny in the beginning but then when the long fights started...it sucked. Same with the first 2 episodes of naruto, then fights that take 10 episodes started and it sucked. I think Orochi's hand was impaling the hokage guy for around 8-10 episodes.
A good shounen series would be deadman wonderland. It cuts the bull and people die quick and fast. Fights are actually decent without people staring and talking at each other for episodes on end.
The other thing I hate about mainstream shounen is that there's too many worthless filler episodes. Lots of episodes is alright if they all make sense and have a purpose (ie Legend of Galatic Heroes).

I agree completely. I used to watch anime like Bleach, Naruto, DBZ etc... But after a while when they get to a scene with a major battle it would take so many episodes just to finish 1 little thing. You would wait an entire week for the new episode to come out just to find out they characters sprout some bs about friendship and then gets punched once. This goes on for almost 5 episodes before they move on to some other character who is also fighting some random ass bad guy. The manga is slightly better since you don't have to wait almost 20 minutes just to find out Naruto punched Garaa once in that 20 minutes and another 20 to find Orochimaru trying to kill the Hokage while giving a 10min speech. The fillers is another thing... random pointless episodes that does not further the storyline in anyway...
DBZ on the other hand i watched as a little boy. When i was that small all i cared about was seeing how cool Goku looked so even if he punched just once in an entire episode i would have been satisfied =)
Even though now i don't watch anime other than the ones that are only 12~24 episode ones unless their comedy. Waiting 3 months for Naruto to beat up Garaa is not worth it...
