  We will be performing a routine maintenance on all game servers on May 25th. During this period, all games will be unavailable. This maintenance will last approximately 9 hours.
  
  Additionally, please note that we will be performing additional maintenance on the Log In server. This may affect log in capabilities for the first hour of maintenance.
  
  Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

  Pacific: 10:00 PM ~ 7:00 AM, Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

  What I don't get, is why it takes 9 hours to do server maintenance.
  
  If its just switching out server revisions... That doesn't take 9 hours, unless they're testing for crashes... Which could have done -before- launching it (Thats what a VPS, or test server is for).
  
  If they're actually working on the server (Diagnostics, updates to software, hardware maintenance), that doesn't take 9 hours, and a lot of that can be done -while- the server is running.
  
  I just don't understand how they can be so inefficient.
