Im looking for something simple to make some speedpaints with.
Nothing fancy, just want to speedup the videos and add music. Something like Movie Maker on XP i guess.
Any suggestions? C:

If you like Movie Maker, then why not use it? But if you want something else for whatever reason, I personally like
VirtualDub.
VirtualDub is basic, but can be extremely flexible if you know what to do. I don't think it has a straight-forward "one click" type of solution for speeding up videos, but you can still achieve this effect by being clever with framerates manually. I did a quick Google search and came up with
this, which is not exactly what you want, but the concept is the same.

I like Movie Maker, but the version they have for win7 is a piece of crap, so i was looking for a replacement xD
Ive used virtual dub before for subbing videos, so i think i'll give it a shot. Thanks :D

Vegas is a kind of heavy program. VirtualDub is what you should probably use if you're just looking to speed up a video and add music. I mean you could use just about anything really, and I think VirtualDub has plenty of rendering options unlike Windows Movie Maker.

Well it's actually a simple program with a lot of features it's easy to use
VirtualDub is kinda useless to me
but it varies from what you use it for.

Yeah, but it also comes in a big file, weighs down older systems, and has a lot of unnecessary things for someone just wanting to do this very simple stuff.
Vegas is nice if you wanna go one step further after trying out another program. It's certainly very user-friendly while still doing a pretty great job (better than VirtualDub, of course). So, take your pick.

VideoSpin is probably your best bet if it works on Windows 7. It's almost exactly like Windows MM for XP/Vista.
OR
LightWorks, which has been used in professional movies if I am correct. It's currently going Open Souce, and a Beta is publicly available to anyone who creates an account. Totally free with only requiring an e-mail to sign up and use the program.
