Well whenever I put my game in it it will read it but once the psp logo disappears the screen just stays black. Sometimes it will start the game but whenever I choose a stage or something it will go to it probably play but then after it ends the screen turns black again and won't load. I have to pull out the disc and back in in hopes that it will work which it does...sometimes when it doesn't it does the same thing.
Anyone know if I can fix this myself without having to pay a hella lot of money to repair it?

Have you tried using another UMD? There might be an issue with the disc your currently using.

Have you tried e-mailing Sony? Or something?
AT LAST RESORT you could install CFW and redownload games you already own and play them from your memory stick.

Emailing Sony would help?

Just how old is your PSP?
Don't worry, I practically broke 3 PSPs with my fingers through DJMax 8D

There is your problem.
I'm suspecting that the disk reader is out, might be something else though.
