Run around blindly and try out new things until you find what you're looking for, then settle right in and try to stay on that path.

All very good answers, thank you, and some of them were humorous, which is what I need right now.
Ask.
Seek.
Find.
Who do you ask?
Take a look at the map!
That makes sense, when speaking physically, what about figuratively? Is there a map you can look at when you are lost in mind as opposed to lost in land? (if that makes sense)
Take the path less traveled.
Why?
follow my instinct
or depending on context, seek help.
Good answer. Once again though, who do you seek help from?

Look it up on google maps.
Are you talking literally or metaphorically?

Either, I'm just trying to create a sort of brainstorm, you can comment on whichever you want. What I really had in mind, or at least what was weighing on my mind at the moment I posted, is not quite metaphorical. It was more something along the lines of: what do you do when you don't know what to do (the way you should go). I'm sorry I can't quite articulate what I mean, the best way to think of it, I suppose, is metaphorically, since "the way you should go" is a sort of analogy or metaphor, and at the same time it really isn't. I'm not seeking a literal road, I'm seeking the type of road made of decisions. Something is not quite right with me, I feel like I'm losing a part of myself, and I'm not sure what to do.
I think I'm rambling now, or at least I will be if I go on. Anyways, talk about the question whatever way you want. All the answers so far have been thought provoking, which is always beneficial, so carry on.

who to ask?
Strangers.. locals.. friends. Maybe even ask a tree, and it would answer in the form of where the moss is growing. Or ask the stars, and follow the big bad north star. :D
I just think of being lost when I think of this question, honestly. I'd still feel humbled if I stargaze if the path in my life is unclear. Sometimes you just need a clear mind so you can follow your intuition.

Looks for surroundings that seem somewhat familiar, or retrace the path that was already walked on if it is still there.
Ask around, if there were any people that were nearby. Gotta be resourceful.

First I try to find around myself, when I fail I go ask whoever I think might be able to help.
