There's a computer in there? O.o

All I've learned is
Fish tanks need cleaning (no, you don't need fish in there to get it dirty). Cleaning not worth money and effort. Also comes with a lot of annoyances. If you never plan on opening your case ever again, then sure.
The concept is fine, just needs a different idea.

I have to admit, that is pretty awesome. But cleaning it would really be a hassle.

No, it's just a fancy PC tower
it was next to the PC Borderlands demo the cat believed
before the game even came out

Sweet.
But before you get one (and i don't know where to get one, to answer your question) owning fish and a fish tank is a huge hassle.
Unless you intend to only farm the fish and eat 'em like a good kitty.
But then, owning fish results in:
-having to clean out a tank that is
+smelly
+slimy
+hazardous (since this one has a PC monitor)
+annoying since you have to catch the fish that keep swimming away from the net
+money consuming, since water, food, water purifiers, filters, heaters, rocks, decorations and fish cost money
And then eventually you lose interest in tapping the tank and scaring the living daylights out of the poor things. My mum eventually sent the fish to a family friend who owns a billion of them and wouldn't mind having them at all.

Whats more expensive a fish or a hamster?
-
Sarinii wrote on 2010-05-28 12:47
Well, i'm thinking that fish are more expensive. Here, anyway.
Hamsters are illegal in Australia to own...I think you need a licence. So hamsters are more expensive to own here because you need to pay for the licence. In the long run, however, fish are probably more expensive..Water restrictions are high here because of the drought, so the bill is always bad. Rodent cages are cheaper than fish tanks most of the time too - lots of fish tanks are at least $50~$100-$500 according to sizes, possibly fitted with a filter. Hamsters are more fun imo anyway!
And then if you get a salt-water aquarium...you can expect the cost of the fish themselves to be very expensive. And then you need to buy rocks, coral, seaweed, filters, lighting, temperature controls, the tank (let's not talk about the price of that.), food, purifiers and more.
