Should've linked to the light novels too.

I don't know what's more amusing. The fact that Fate/Zero was created because Nasu wanted a prequel where Saber gets bullied by Alexander the Great and Gilgamesh, or the fact that Gen Urobuchi wanted to write such a prequel.

I'm interested in this series.
Should I read this first or the original fate stay night first?

TBH, i skimmed the entire episode. I'm not interested in a back story, if I want to know, i'll watch it some other time, other than that, all i did was watch them summon the servants.
Also.

For those watching online, the official source of those streaming videos is
http://ch.nicovideo.jp/channel/fate-zero.
The comments make the show a lot more entertaining but spoils the show, but you can always turn them off.
And of course,
http://www.nyaa.eu for torrents and direct downloads.
24 more hours until episode 3!
