Cannot Connect FTP or Server Too Busy

  Whenever I go to run the Mabinogi Launcher it runs perfectly fine up until I begin connecting to the patch server part. Then i get the message "Cannot Connect to FTP or Server Too Busy". I have tried reinstalling and using the old fix from February when Nexon directed us to the wrong patch server. I also tried it without the fix. If anyone could offer any help or advice at all it would be greatly appreciated considering I havn't been able to play Mabi for the past week or two.
  
  PS I do not have any mods.

  If not, then there is most likely a DNS problem. The IP I resolve from that domain name is 207.138.133.177. Try the HOSTS file fix with that IP?

  Try to flush your DNS cache just in case, with the ipconfig /flushdns command.
  
  Another thing to try is to reset your IE settings to defaults. The game uses IE to fetch files via HTTP, so it's possibly using it for FTP transfers as well. Maybe there is some sort of conflict in your settings... Internet Options > Advanced > Reset

  No, any IE version should work. Although you should upgrade to IE9 for the security/performance/compatibility improvements anyway. :P (or 8 if you are stuck on XP)
  
  Just to be clear, you also tested that you can access the patch FTP using IE, correct? (There's a slim possibility that it could, say, work on FF, but not on IE.. for whatever reason.)
  
  If that works, then I can't think of anything else atm. D: And it's hard to think of anything without having having more data. You could do a network packet capture of the launcher's patching process using Wireshark and send me the log, or analyze it yourself. It should be possible to see where the breakdown occurs.
  
  Wireshark is pretty advanced software, but the basics should be simple. All you have to do is install it, start a capture right before you launch the launcher, and stop it right after. Oh, and close all programs, as they could be using the network and sending stuff, which will be captured as well.

  Genius! Ok, so i tested it on IE (I use chrome) and it gave me a DNS error. So... What should I be doing from here .-. Thanks for all the help by the way.

  That's what it looks like in IE9. If you don't have IE9, you should update, and then do the reset again.
  
  If that still doesn't work, does ftp://198.63.231.99/ load in IE? Hell, can you even load http://nexon.net in IE? If going there manually by IP works, then at least we know it's not a FTP issue. Post your HOSTS file's contents here so I can make sure you attempted the redirection fix properly. The IP I got pinging mabipatch.nexon.net just now is 198.63.231.99.
  
  Or rather than relying on that temp fix, you can try changing your DNS servers from your ISP's, to Google's. Instructions here.
  
  If that doesn't help, then it's possible you have somehow messed up the networking settings on your system. That would be a pain in the ass to troubleshoot manually. If you have Windows 7 (or Vista?) you can use the Troubleshooting program found in the Control Panel.

  Point it at ftp://mabipatch.nexon.net or, if you couldn't load the nexon.net website, point it at that.
  I'm not even sure if this works for FTP sites, but it doesn't hurt to try!

  I can't connect to ftp://198.63.231.99/, but I connect to www.nexon.net fine. I upgraded to IE9 like you told me to, and did the full reset. The connection still didn't work. I tried the Google DNS fix and it didn't work D: I am currently using the troubleshooting.

  EDIT : This new patch fixed the problem 8D Finally nexon does something right, probably on accident. I went to the FTP through chrome and just downloaded launcher_113.bin and replace Mabinogi.exe with it.
