Cadet Ring quest help [solved]

I'm doing the quest "The Second Test of a True Soldier" given by Gwynn and I'm on the part where you are supposed to make a Cadet ring. The quest requirement box only says "Cadet Ring 0/1" so I'm wondering if I could just buy a ring from the market to complete the quest. Does anyone remember or has anyone tried this out?

Edit: Someone in game told me that yes, you can just buy the ring. Tested and it works.
