According to wikiped, Nexon moved their main HQ from South Korea to Tokyo.
How is it that I never remember them telling us this, and does that mean all the stuff they talk about going to korea for help with their games is actualy a farse and they're actualy just chillin'? :T_T:

Nexon ≠DevCat.
DevCat, the developer, is where Nexon takes problems. DevCat is stationed in Korea, I'm pretty sure. Nexon just publishes the games.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong though.
Also, going to move this to Everything Else since this isn't News. Please watch where you post things in the future.

"Nexon Corporation (Korean: 넥슨) is a South Korean video game developer and publisher of online games and MMORPGs."
Hmmmm
Heres something else I found While searching the names...
devCAT is an internal development studio at Nexon Corporation.
So as Far as I read... Nexon is the Main Company That was created in Korea... and made a company in Japan as well as branches of one...
DevCat is the subsidiary of Nexon and works like a dif group to help Publish the games....
so in conclusion Nexon may not be Devcat but they are subsidiary companies... so... in a sense they are part of a whole..
I can't find out anything "Solid" as I don't Read Korean... and I honestly don't trust Google to do a great translation.. so yeah..

This changes everything.
Has devCat developed any other games?
Just Vindictus and Mabinogi right? Which all fall under Nexon. So this would make sense.

@skye
Not necessarily true. Nexon Korea has developed a very strong number of titles. Nexon America however just localizes and act as a publisher. And you're a tad bit off context as OP just asked whether or not Nexon's HQ was moved from Korea to Japan.
I dont think they would do that. Nexon Japan is quite a bit smaller than Nexon Korea. As Nexon currently stands as Korea's third largest game company, it would be completely foolish of them to change their HQ to a localization branch.
And for everyone else... you guys always be forgetting devcat's abortion child, Husky Express.

Just some food for though, but what ARE the other 2 top Korean Gaming Companies?

Looks like someone messed around with the article, at least I can tell you with certainty that neither the German, Danish nor Norwegian wiki-articles say anything about an HQ-move.

Yoorah wrote on 2011-06-24 11:06
The wiki edit there is silly. There is no logical reason for Nexon to move their HQ to Japan, and no proof of them having done so.
And as for the devCAT vs Nexon debate, you guys are trying too hard. >.>
