As of now, what are the best end game items for a scythe evie and worth enhancing/enchanting?
Scythe and Cloth armor.

3/4 star queen's light glory helm, 3/4 star temptress dress, broken feather skirt, 3/4 star temptress booties/gloves, 3 star earrings of temptation/broken feather earrings, ghost witch spellbook, 3 star thorn rings (two of them), solid thor leather belt, and ghost witch emblem of whatever choice.
You're gonna want scholar's and brilliance on the helmet, force illusion on the dress, and disciple's Illusion on everything else. For the spellbook, Sage Chaos is what you want.
Mind you, this is for pure M.ATT.\
As for scythe, you can choose either Braid Tassel (Recommended) or Rakrak claw. Rakrak claw is generally cheaper and has nice attack speed to boot, but you lose around 500 M.ATT, which is fairly substantial.
If you go with Rakrak, stick gallant and valor on it, otherwise use prideful and valor.

Nobody has done full testing to see if the difference in a attack speed makes up for 500 m att
Since if enchanted high enough the difference could be noticable
But yea
Braid if you dont want to get used to higher speed/ have more money
Rakrak for fast aspd and bugdet saver

Thorn ring+ shadow looting + ghost witch charm is 1 int higher then a full ghost witch set
Other slot of course thorn ring

Actually, Dual 3 star thorn rings + Ghost witch spellbook + Ghost witch Emblem is higher int than shadow looting + 3 star thorn ring + ghost witch ring + ghost witch charm. Both charms are at 2 stars for this comparison.
Keep in mind the +10 int set bonus with ghost witch book at emblem.

This thread is about the best end game equipment. If you can't afford the best, then this thread may not be for you. Though 3star rings werent that expensive the last time i checked.

Can someone explain to me the use of Ghost Witch rings or whatever.
I've never seen how they were ever favored above Thorn rings.

A common misconception with ghost witch rings is that they're better just because of the set bonus. That's really the only reason people have them at all, also for the equipment story.
Also, as far as enchants, Zeal is a better suffix than illusion for boots, and Fury is a better prefix than Disciple for gloves. Enduring is also a better prefix for tunic. The reason why is because Fury has a chance to increase attack speed, therefore increasing damage thoroughput. Enduring and Zeal are also VERY useful for raids like Titan, Thor, Spider Queen, Klaus, and Irukul where you have no real chance to gather SP for insane reaper. The extra stamina means extra dodging, which means extra survivability.

I agree with this besides Fury. Fury procs after you've been hit. A Scythe Evie isn't one of the classes who can afford to get hit (Karok/Fiona can as block/SA count as being hit and thus they can proc Fury without taking damage). Having a chance to activate Fury the few times a Scythe Evie can afford to get hit does not justify the +16 or so Attack Speed for 15s that it grants over another Disciple for minor but constant damage boost.
Stone falls under the same "Proc on hit so it's worthless", but it might be worth considering as it'll affect the proc'd hit, and +3k Def can save you at times. However it is situational and you might want to run Illusion for the same reasons as above.

So, i will go with Ghostly+Thor belt+3* Thorn ring+Ghost witch emblem and spell book
This gets even better if you are using a dreamwalker staff.

Since when did this become the best end game for
staff?
Although your comparison is in fact correct, they have the same int, which in this situation is what matters more than the other stats.

GregHouse wrote on 2011-07-12 17:34
Because its a bonus. For Scythe evies with capped AP, its almost natural to go hybrid eventually. Even if you use staff only to specific raids that you do once a month. Its a bonus. Bonus>no Bonus
If it gives the same int, and on top of that enhance other stats by quit a bit... why isnt it the best?
Again: Bonus>no Bonus
