  Honestly, when it comes down to helping Osay (and the rest of the community therefore) out by loading a few ads that aren't all that bad, or Mabination ceasing to exist... it's obvious which choice is the preferred one.
  
  Of course, in the end... a few selfish people blocking them aren't going to matter.

  
  It's a combination of what Halfslashed wrote and my personal feelings on online advertising in general. For the former, this forum was founded on being ad-free so I rather that it remains ad-free. For the latter, the ads kind of detract the attention from the website (well, that's their job), rely on multiple ad agencies that track your information, and that I personally think that flash should never be used in banner ads.
  
  If the site's ad-free and crashes from time to time, that's fine.
  
  If the site is supported by donations and is more reliable, that's fine too.
  
  If there must be ads.... if the site is supported by internal advertising that's acceptable, sure. (I don't want medication to end menopause.) (Yes, I know that the system is still learning which ads to show.)
  
  But I don't like the current way of advertising.

  The ad's aren't even that bad. At all.
  If you're going to be that nit-picky about a few hard to notice and easy to ignore ads, then I suggest you learn to stop being so spoiled in regards to an ad-free environment. It was ad-free up until now for a reason; we need ads to help keep the sight up.
  
  If you want to continue whining about 2 little ads compared to pop ups and everything else on the Internet? Deal with it or try and find another Mabinogi forum as awesome as this.

  Would you seriously rather either Osay or the members pay for the server or would you rather just load a few ads? It's a banner you can just scroll past, and that earns money to support the site.
  
  For the forum to have gone this long with just Osay supporting it is amazing. Honestly, if it were me, I wouldn't have paid for a website out of my own pocket just for the members' sake.
  
  If you browse & enjoy the forums you might as well let the ads show up, it's the least anyone can do. Could at least show some gratitude for the 14+ months that nation has been ad-free.

  For the people who complain: Those ads aren't even half as bad as what you find on pretty much EVERY single website. Hell even youtube without adblock is worse than the ads we have on Nation. I hardly noticed the one after the first post, and the one at top can be removed by upgrading your account, I really don't see the problem seriously. Like pretty much everyone said it's pretty selfish to expect the forum to be running ad-free when you're not the one paying for it. I really wanted to post a "Deal with it" picture but that would be considered trolling I believe.
  
  Oh well, I support the ads if it keeps mabination running, as long as it's not pop-up or sound ads.

  I want to get rid of the ad's after the first post of every page :mad:
  
  P.S. I browse in Chrome. How to block ad's in Chrome and no I'm not using firefox just to browse Mabination. I shouldn't have to be forced to change browsers to have an enjoyable experience.

  Now in place of the Ad is Good old Ferghus with the text "If the forum breaks it isn't my fault." >.>

  Removed the text ads on top for all logged in members. For guests, they get another one similar to those that show up after the first posts along with a message telling them to log in to get rid of it.
  
  Should encourage more registrations while helping more with the success of the ads, text ads don't perform well.

  I actually preferred the text one up top. It was the least obtrusive.
  
  At any rate, I still think the one after the first post would look better at the top of the forum instead. It would still load on every single page.
