Never been to an anime con before D:
Mainly because I never know of any going on around here, and even if I did I would hesitate to be surrounded by a bunch of white kids who think japan is god. I love a select few series, but it's not enough for me to go to such a place unless it was with people who felt the same way. Too bad I don't know very many people in real life who even know what anime is.

Anime North is probably the closest we get.

Anime cons are okay to go every once in a while.
Instead of buying the products of course, you just write their names down and search online for a better price, unless you KNOW its a import product that will be hard to get in (Example: Naruto Clash of Ninja 3, better than the rest easily, only sold in Japan)
The fun is in the cosplays of course. Gotta bring the camera. There are usually 5~10 events going on at once at all times, so you can really fix your schedule to fit your style. And if you do your research, you'll find lots of other hidden events here and there.
Its an experience worth getting, even if there's an extreme amount of annoying fags around. The Artist's Alley is easily the best place to be when there isn't a really good panel or event going on. Auctions are awesome, you can easily sell just about anything.

The closest one to me is the one in Baltimore... I was gonna go this summer, but my budget didn't allow me *sighhhh*
I also don't know who to cosplay as. (doesn't want to cross dress since I do have my price as a guy... but then again, there's no guy characters that is unique/suitable to cosplay as)
