Spam is going to get kicked in the ass soon anyways if it continues outside of the /b/ too much. Short and useless replies are fine to a certain extent but if that's all there is in a thread for a whole page then it's a problem, unless it's in /b/.

Mods don't do anything but order mop around.
And even then there isn't much done out here.
I don't care about behind the scenes, it's just what happens out in front of us that matters to US.

Chocklitshop
so anyways no
the reputation system rewards so little bars that people don't really anymore
(unless if you recommend them to)
People spam a lot outside /b/
so no.
Grow up. Seriously. I find you
far more annoying than Chocklitshop.
Anyways, I like the idea. I don't think spamming will grow at all.

I'd rep you but...... :L
Spam is guaranteed to happen once everyone has contributed to the original topic so unless Mods feel like closing/deleting all the posts after those that pertain to the topic then spam would be less frequent outside of /b/. Even then some members don't even contribute to the topic but others posts (whether it be a grammar mistake and/or flaming etc etc)

Then report it. We mods can't look at every post every minute it's posted! :P

I can't go around and report 50+ posts from every new thread ;~;
Well I could................ but who wants to do that?

Take it to PMs or you'll be infracted for off-topic spam and trolling.
Anyway, brad, that's why it's there though :P

If I remember correctly, that mod ads a lot of overhead to the forumhome template.
I haven't used it in a while, because I think it adds unnecessary queries, scroll, and all in all goes unused (I use to use a behavior analytic script that allowed me to track member use of features, and it showed most people never went further than Mark Forums Read (From 3.8), so I removed most mods that modified the Who's Online Box, and removed as much as I could from footers).

I've always used the plugin, it doesn't take up to much room, as you can see

I just read the description for this mod on vborg and it doesn't seem worth it. The info it displays is nice and all but the cost of doing so, and the unlikelyness of very many people even making use of it makes it not worth installing. Also the fact that it's ajax makes it even worst, I want to minimize scripts on the front page as much as possible, especially if I'll be having an optional erinn clock in the header later on.

There is an option to shut off most of the useless stuff like top posts, rep ect. I would like it for the "Newest Posts" though. >.>
