  has anyone watched this movie?
  
  or read zero-hedge? It's a fantastic site, and they talk about all the same stuff and more on a daily basis, but I always need to look up terminology or ask someone who studies economics to clarify things. I still don't understand complex derivatives like CDOs entirely.
  
  every time I hear the word "Sach" or I get instilled with pure liquid fear. How the hell do people allow an apology from a bunch of psychopaths, thinking it wouldn't happen again?! (Well, it's not like they're the only ones responsible, but it keeps getting brought up again and again)
  that's just asking to get your own throat slit. And it did.
  
  they've been poisoning Canada too, like with the recent privatization of jails thanks to a POS Conservative government as well as the bank of Canada being controlled by a guy who formerly worked at Goldman Sachs. Guess who needed a bailout?
  
  I sincerely hope that someone goes ahead and murders or incarcerates the top executives responsible (who were reappointed by Obama..), as well as the boards of directors who allowed them to escape jail with their fortunes intact. Sounds violent, but they're the ones responsible for the economic crises, and they're still in charge of things. It's better than waiting for the ponzi scheme to collapse in on itself once more. Even though Obama spoke strongly about regulating the unstable market, he did not follow through, and I'm sure you know why.
  
  so much corruption :T_T: why aren't people up at arms over all this?! Protesting at the white house? With how they manage health care and education, I bet they're happier making education increasingly out of reach and fearmongering about healthcare, convincing the average american that it's a communist idea. Republicans literally paid people to go around screaming falsehoods about socialist healthcare, saying it would ruin everything, and people listened!
  
  This whole F*ck you, I got mine mentality is the Republican's motto, and I wonder how long it will take people to realize that when you get ill, it's other people saving your ass.

  whew, needed to get that off my chest. I'm glad I'm in Canada, but things are slowly looking more American around here, sans the fact that christianity is dying out. Except Quebec, they're actually are NDP now.

  I've watched it. Yeah, corruption sucks... The director didn't give much advice as to how to stop it either when he gave a closing address to the film. :/

  But from what I remember, Goldman Sachs was merely the middleman, helping idiots trade with other idiots and make some money off of them. Goldman Sachs isn't who was responsible for the crash--the risky trading fad was, along with stuff like the US gov letting poor qualify for mortgages, and the general stagnation of the manufacturing sector. Goldman Sachs did do some shady stuff, but putting it in context with the whole picture, they weren't that big of a factor.
  
  Stop being so scared! Fear is an ugly thing. :( And wishing for them to be killed is kinda.. >_> but sure, I'd like to see more of those responsible spending time behind bars. Stuff isn't as bad as those sites make you believe. Especially if you have an education and therefore can compete in the modern economy. The noobs will be increasingly under pressure, yeah. But whatever, that's reality in global competition.
  
  And the Conservative government hasn't done anything to deserve that title. :( IMO they've been the lesser of the two evils for a while now, especially now that the NDP is the opposition. lolol I've tried to look up info on privatization of prisons, but all I've found were noob articles on noob sites.

  eh.. the only way I see it stopping is
  A: someone kills them
  B: an iron fist dictator comes and takes over america and forces change

  and yea, I mentioned killing is extreme, but the top percent who got away with ruining the lives of millions of middle-class americans and literally crashing the world economy walked away with preposterous compensations instead of going to jail like they did when a similar thing happened years ago.. because the board of directors were hand picked by THEM.. read:corrupted as f*ck, it makes me have very, very little remorse. People are still suffering the reprecussions today, with education being increasingly out of reach to the average american, and prices for everything shooting up >_> among many others, but my brain is kind of derp atm.
  
  As for the privatization of jails, it was just from watching a late-night show like 20/20 or dateline, where they examined a judge who was putting juveniles in prison for minor offences that really weren't worth jail time.. and his buddy was the owner of a private jail, and was making a fat profit. There is a correlation between the privatization of jails and the number of prisoners in jail; and guess who's doing that whole Tough on Crime? The conservative Harper gov'ment >:I

  I don't like Goldman Sach's for Henry Paulson mainly, he was the punk-ass who forced the passing of the TARP bill (by voting for it over and over again) to take 700 billion from taxpayers (which they ended up taking more like 3 trillion from..) of which he handed out to his company through the use of credit default swaps. They were definitely a part of the whole that instrumented the whole financial crisis.
