====PREFACE,READ====
This guide was built specificly for a 1kish friend who had certain skill ranks, which will also be listed
in the guide. I did not feel like editing it for the general populace, but it can still be helpful in a few
ways! The DEX/AP gains are based on rank F skills, except for CS, which is based on starting at rank 5. Obviously, skills he has already ranked are not listed in the order of this guide. This guide also supports unorthodox methods such as river glitching, and autoclicking. If you have a problem with that, too bad for you! This is the skill section of my guide, which is as of now unfinished. You may be able to expect an enchant/equip section soon, as he has like no range equipment. :)
-The guide from beyond this point adresses specificly for the person I wrote this to.-
====Area 1, Skill builds====
====Section 1, Introduction====
This is mostly going to deal with ranged in particular for you.
It will be a little complicated but I'm sure you can understand.
In this guide we will sort of be shoving magic out of the way
and leaving it in a corner because range elves end up much more
preferred, imo, having played both types.
Okay, I'm going to start the guide here.
====Section 2, Your current skills====
Of all DEX skills ranked beyond F, you currently have
Ranged r1
Magnum r1
Crash r5
Bow Mastery r1
Refine r1
Hailstorm r1
====Section 3, Key Ideas====
This skill area of the guide will mostly be based upon
something called DEX/AP ratio. It is the DEX gained from
a skill divided by the AP used to rank the skill.
However, some skills are more difficult to rank than others
in terms of requirements, and that will be considered as well.
I sorted the skills in my preferred order of ranking them.
====Section 4, Chronological(kind of) skill preference====
0. Playing Instrument while AFK
Playing instrument is a very good +DEX skill to have, and
it is almost no work if you no what you're doing. To train
this, find a secure area such as the dunbarton church and
then use the provided autoclicker to train the skill. Simply
run the exe, click Auto Clicker, then put in 1 Seconds on
the autoclicker time. Now, switch back to the game, hover
the mouse cursor over the "Use" button next to play
instrument, equip a good-dura instrument like a mandolin,
then click the start button on the autoclicker and quickly
switch back to the game and make sure your cursor is at the
Use button again. You will not need any scrolls to do this,
and if you leave this working while you sleep or go afk, you
can easily train your instrument skill with this method. This is
what I did to get r1. Instrument is 0 on my list because you
can just do it alongside whatever you are currently ranking,
and use your AP on it whenever it is rankable.
Instrument at r1 will give 24 dex for only 87 AP, 10 of this
dex coming from the very last rank, so it will be kind of
like a goal oriented thing to get to r1, as it is the big
bonus, like with refine.
-1. Fish while AFK
This does not even require autoclicking, just do this after
instrument. go to some pond and eq a fishing rod/bait and fish
while you leave your computer on. It is barely anything, but
why not? Not a very high priority though. This skill does not
have a very good DEX/AP ratio, and as such is a very low priority,
but it takes a very long time to rank, and in order not to waste time,
I believe you should start doing it as soon as you finish instrument,
just passively along with any other skills you might be ranking.
Fishing at r1 will give 5more dex.
1. Rank Critical Hit. Now.
How could you have this at rank F? Critical hit is a major staple in the lives of ranged elves.
We live, feel, breathe critical hits. It is our main source of damage, and even though it does not add
DEX, you should r1 it immediately without question. Training will take a while, but it's just a bunch of
landing critical hits on enemies/letting enemies land criticals on you. So, this skill is another one you
can train rather passively while training other skills, but it is a very high priority.
Critical Hit at r1 will give 45 will (+4.5% crit chance) and +150% damage whenever you crit for 132 AP.
2.Rank Production Mastery. Now.
How could you not have this ranked, dude! This skill
gives mad amount of stamina and very efficient DEX!
Ranking it is extremely easy, just spam the first 2 requirements
( Collect any material without using a skill. and
Create any material through use of a skill. )
all the way to r1! you will have more than enough EXP to rank it.
Because of the great DEX/AP ratio and the bonus stam of
this skill, it should be the second thing you do.
Production mastery will present you 17 more DEX
and 150 more stamina at only 67 more AP.
3.Rank First Aid.
After rank 8, the requirements become difficult, but up to
rank 8, the requirements are all NPC quests and are
extremely easy, besides one that involves collecting some
kind of monster drops. Look up the skill on the wiki for
quest guides. This should be the third thing you do.
This bad boy will give 14 DEX for only 43 AP at rank 8.
4.Rank Tailoring. A little.
This will not be a major thing, but I believe it's very easy
to get rank A-8ish Tailoring. Barely any effort involved.
The reqs will mostly consist of buying NPC tailor scrolls of
various ranks and buying all the materials from NPCs too
to train it quite easily. As you are currently rD you have
done a little, but there are more manuals you can use to
get to A-8 area ( I forgot which ) that only require NPCs.
Go check out the tailoring page and one of the links
(Tailored items list) for manual data and skilltraining!
Tailoring will give you 7 more dex for only 23 more AP at rank 9.
5. Rank Handicrafting. Again, a little.
This will not be a major thing either, but it is pretty easy
to rank this skill to a very vague area from like C to 9 that
I cannot seem to remember right now. I do remember that the
training I did mostly involved folding paper cranes, making
handmage bandages and arrows, and making stuff with firewood
and nails like handikits and fishing rods, but you
will have to check out the wiki to figure out the skill, as
I don't remember exactly what to do very well. Also check the
Handicraft List link on the skill page to see what can be
crafted as well as materials and required rank and item rank.
Handicrafting at rank 9 will give you 8 more dex for only 10
more AP. But again, I dont remember how far you can get without
wooden boards(which are so annoying)being a nuisance.Somewhere
in the C to 9 area.
6/7. Rank Sword Mastery + Combat Mastery
Now we will be getting more serious. Sword Mastery is your best
bet to start on in the combat tab right now because it goes
along with ranking Combat Mastery. The skill requirements
will be a little CP based, but not much work. I reccomend
going to SCC in varying difficulties and reading mob strength,
along with a combo of the black grizzlies outside if you need them.
You will mostly be killing the mobs with ranged, using the
anyone finish party option, then finishing with your sword
to get those requirements. Combat Mastery and Sword Mastery
should both train alongside each other fairly well, but your
overriding preference between the two should be Sword Mastery.
(i.e if both are rankable rank sword mastery). But try to
rank combat mastery too so as not to waste skill training!
SM+CM both at rank 1 will provide 28 DEX for 286 AP.
9.Rank Mirage Missile
This is the next thing you should be doing. You will never
need bosses for this skill, so this opens up alot of
opportunities. You only need Strong/AWfuls for it.
To train this skill at optimum speed and difficulty, you will
be RIVER GLITCHING, at the last spot on the raft with monsters.
This is where I did it, and there is no shame in it. People will
not like you, but you should get both awfuls and strongs here
in great numbers. Just group mobs, use the skill, have it infect the
mobs, let it wear off, and repeat. The mobs will usually group
for you but you may need to move around to get them close
enough together. If you need help getting here, ask
a friend, as I don't have my coupon to here anymore. The way
I first got here involved using my router and some other
specifics but it's too complicated to get into with you,
would have to do it in a different chat.
MM at rank 1 will give 23 dex for 201 AP.
10.Rank Counterattack
After MM comes Counterattack. Counterattack does not require
any CP at all, so you can really do this at any time, but
its DEX/AP ratio is pretty good , so I'd place it after MM.
Basically you will be throwing rocks or using a weak bolt,
then loading counter and hoping you crit or the enemy uses
smash. You can do this basically anywhere, but may have to
change spots if you need the "counter special skill" req,
specificly to a place with an enemy that has smash. You
should usually be doing this with weak enemies, but it is
very boring, although not that difficult to do.
Counter at rank 1 will give 15 more dex for 112 AP.
11.Rank CS
Now I know you're thinking, why is CS so low? This is because
you are r5 already, and further ranks, even though the skill
is extremely useful, cost TONS of ap and give NOT alot of dex.
You should be building a foundation of DEX before doing this.
This can arguably come after OR before FS but I have put it
before because that is the order in which I did it in.
You know the training for this skill already, since you've got
r5. r5 is really a good place to be at for this skill
because of the boost it gives as compared to 6, but 1 is
necessary if you want to utilize your elf to its fullest.
Ranking to 1 will give moderate dex at a bad ratio, but will
also make the skill multiply damage by 50% more,
have 100 more splashradius, and splash 1 more target max.
If you don't like CS alot, do FS first!
CS at rank 1 will give 14 more dex for 260 more AP.
wah wah wah.
12.Rank FS
This can come before or after CS, depending on your preference.
However, this skill will take quite a while. I also trained
this skill at the river, because it requires strong-boss indiv
monsters but only up to awful groups, and the river houses
lots of mobs. However, the training basically consists of
just spamming arrows on large groups of mobs at the same time.
You may have to use -CP to get goblins to be bosses, but
awful CP should work fine w/o -CP.
13.Rank Enthralling Performance
Had not touched this skill yet, but is what I was going to do next.
A technique I used was using it, getting the mobs I
needed to tame, then using hide. Involves groups and
some CP ( strong-awful-boss).
This skill gives 19 dex for 301 AP at r1.
14.Evade
Did this at the river. Went further upstream, found groups of
mage and range goblins, and dodged their attacks.
Very stamina heavy skill.
Evade gives 4 dex for 91 AP, hence why I put it last.
FS at rank 1 will give 41 more dex (!) for 414 more AP.
====Section 5, the BORING yet not IMPOSSIBLE====
With FS done, you will have graduated from easy ranged
skill training. OR SO YOU THINK! These skills can be ranked
any time really, just like instrument, but I personally think
of these as boring beyond words. I will again emphasize, however,
that these skills are a higher priority than any other skill described
in the guide, besides maybe critical hit. Do them if you dare!
1.Support Shot
Oh lord. You are going to be soooo bored ranking this
one. The requirements of this are EXTREMELY long, repetitive,
and boring. Aside from Similar levels at rank 9-8, this is
everyday Strong-Awful-Boss skill training. I, again, used the river
for CP requirements, as well as -CP to get goblins to boss,
but after the CP requirements are done at the river,
starting at rank 9, you should be running over to provocation
to finish the Not Knock Down the enemy requirements, as it
works to do this on the provo spikes, and is much less complicated.
However, ranking this skill will kill your soul. YOU HAVE TO
DO IT ALL MANUALLY, AAAAAAAAAAAA
Support shot will give 31 dex (!) for the price of 181 AP.
AND YOUR SOULLLLL
2.Weaving
Not even going to bother explaining this skill. Read a weaving
guide on mabination. I personally was stuck on rank 8 with this,
and you probably will be too.
Hard ranks in particular include D, A-8, and 4. The others will
mostly be easy as people do sell leathers, but dont sell thread.
8 in particular is hard.
Weaving will give will give 43 dex (!) for the price of only 41 AP.
And alot of money/boredom time, but not really your soul.
except at rank D,A,9,8, and 4.
====Section 6, random +dex skills i didnt care for====
These skills have weird reqs, and dont give alot of dex,
but do give a little dex. do these after the borings and the normals.
Cooking
Metallurgy
Metal Conversion
===Section 7, the IMPOSSIBLE====
These skills are plain impossible, do these
if you feel like being even more of an elitist than me.
each has their own real guide.
Some give lots of dex at great ratios, and some give
a little dex at great ratios.
Blacksmithing
Potion Making
Herbalism ( Make getting rank A a priority )
The rest of tailoring
The rest of handicraft
Enchant
TRY to get herbalism rank A just for the boost from spike ES
of +10 dex. It is pretty cool once you get that far.
====Section 8, the end====
So, this ends the skill section of my guide!
...
uh
i dont know what to put here exactly!
bye! will get to enchant/equip section later.
