  I still disagree. Both shields after Horn will cost 3m or more to craft/buy. All 61 weapons (most people jump straight from Ivory to Dreamwalker/61s) have mats that easily push costs to above 3m. Titan weapons (backbones + breakoffs) and Dreamwalker (original drop + inner mouths) are the two big ones.
  
  People are cheap anyways. You're asking them to get something that
  1. Doesn't offer much of a benefit (Horn works perfectly fine, you're only missing ~200 defense from not using a later one)
  2. They don't want to waste time / money on an intermediate set (i.e. Pompush, 500k is not cheap in my book)
  3. They can't afford as they were getting better armor (The shield is a moot point if you've upgraded to a Lv. 61 armor)

  And I completely agree with RebeccaBlack on the skill thing. Also note that if they were using swords, you've got the damage gap to consider.

  Unless we're talking about a couple percent, this is primarily the result of being more skilled and the weapon itself had little impact on it.

  As i said if they had a decent weapon i would be fine with horn shields. and 500k is kinda cheap.... compared to everything else end game, and you can sell ivorys for over 1m to pay for it.
  and 500k is like 3-4 hours in boat 6+ if your unlucky
  I even sold my pompush hammer for 1m after i got my bh, so that's 2x profit.
  
  500k also only pays for 1/12 of the hammer parts needed for BH so pompush is relatively cheap.
  
  46% in hardmode rescue 2 lanns 1 karok .-. why damn it why

  But 500k is a lot to spend on something you're going to put aside after a couple dozen of BH runs. This is even more evident as you're running Rescue. They're either running it for the BH armor, BH weapons, or drops to sell to buy other things.
  
  Also, I remember that someone (foreignreign) had some substantial proof that Hammer Fiona was able to solo BH faster then very high skilled Lanns with better equips. This was prior to the Hammer buff as well. You have to take into consideration that the class itself might be coming into play here.

  It took me well over 80 runs to get the items i needed for my bh, and i sold it for 2x profit.
  
  It feels like i'm doing too much each run .-. it honestly does, it makes me feel like i'm the onlyone carrying their weight half the time.

  38% damage with a level 68 karok level 69 spear lann and a level 66 sword lann .-. ok ok it might be the class thing not the weapons/armor >.>
