Honestly I like Japanese curry way more. But thai curry has A LOT of spices in it. Thai curry is like you just ate the sun its so spicy, which I love. It also has a more earthy taste but sometimes you can't even tell. It really depends on how its made. I've tried both Thai and Japanese curry that was more tangy than spicy and vice versa.

I think curry in general is pretty good but I need to try Thai curry to see why it stands above all the rest
In any case, it's not surprising how fatty foods taste good since fat and preservatives is pretty tasty.
