Sometimes I work on weekends from home doing the more boring work we don't have time for during the week. Most of the week consists of dealing with client emergencies like those who come to us with their network having exploded or data recovery, or building machines clients need like "right the **** now or else our business goes down".
On weekends I work on internal stuff like improving our monitoring tools configurations and other boring stuff. Sometimes research too.
