'NK soldiers thank Kim Jong-il for bulgogi'

  A poster in which North Korean soldiers, apparently moved by dishes of bulgogi, or Korean barbecue, shed tears has attracted South Korean Internet users.
  
  The North Korean Central Television reported on July 21 that North Korean soldiers were thankful for the bulgogi dishes offered by North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and shed “tears of appreciation,” nownewsnet.com reported Monday.
  
  The poster, which was reportedly made by soldiers working at a construction site, contains an image which shows that soldiers wipe away their tears, and the word, “Oh, bulgogi!!!” and “Soldiers are choked by Kim’s ‘passionate love’ toward them.”
  
  In another image, a group of soldiers sit down together and eat bulgogi.
  
  Kim offered the bulgogi dishes to encourage soldiers mobilized to construct the Huicheon No. 2 power plant in Jagang Province as part of efforts to build a “strong country,” the report said.
  
  South Korean Internet users, who saw the images, said, “Is it difficult to find bulgogi in North Korea?,” “What a pity they have little to eat and shed tears at seeing bulgogi,” and “The North is really facing a serious food shortage.”

  지난 21일 조선중앙 TV는 “북한 군인들이 김정일 국방 위원장이 보내준 불고기에 감사의 눈물을 흘렸다”고 보도했다.
  
  발전소 건설현장 군인들이 만들었다는 포스터에는 눈물을 훔치는 인민군 그림과 함께 “아~ 불고기!!!,”“뜨거운 그 사랑에 목메어”라는 문구가 보인다. 오른쪽 사진은 포스터에 담긴 사진을 확대한 것으로 군인들이 모여 앉아 불고기를 먹는 모습이 담겨있다.
  
  북한은 강성대국 진입의 상징으로 희천 2호 발전소를 건설 중이며, 발전소 건설 현장에 동원된 인민군들을 격려하는 차원에서 불고기가 보내진 것으로 보인다.
  
  북한 인민군 불고기 포스터에 네티즌들은 “북한에선 불고기 구경하기 힘든가”, “얼마나 못 먹었으면 불고기에 눈물을 안타깝다,””정말 식량난이 심각한가 보다” 등 안타까운 마음을 전했다. (서울신문 나우뉴스 [email][email protected][/email])

  Maybe Kim should work on getting some more food to his people rather than building more power plants for a "strong country".

  You shouldn't force people to finish their food. That'll just encourage obesity.
  
  Instead, try a proactive approach and make them get less food. e.g. choose their serving size for them, rather than allowing them to get too much.
