I've been reading some threads over at Nexon forums (Yeah, I know, Nexon forums...but I always come back here! I was bored ^^) about how the raid bosses in Ep 9 have so much DEF (13k I think was the figure quoted) and you'll need at least a +10 weapon to even damage them.
I've been rocking my +5 Jagrush's Bloodletters for some time now and I haven't heard any complaints or seen the need to upgrade, but I do hope all this rumor-mongering is just that and we won't need to have insane amounts of ATK just to do damage.
What do you all think?

I seriously doubt it.
And if so, I'm screwed, because I haven't even broken 12K due to laziness, despite doing better than most people.
Looking it up on VindictusDB, there's no info for it right now... maybe it's elsewhere.

If you believe the sky is falling types from various sources, then in Episode 9 you'll need to rock 13.5k ATT minimal for raiding. It would seem that many KR pugs are basing this as the starting point for anyone joining raids. The reason being that the new raid boss is roughly the equivalent of Hero Weeping Queen which means you need that much ATT in order to damage through the DEF of the boss. Evie is the only class exempt from this standard. So, that means you will be needing to invest into a +10 or better weapon for some people to take you seriously then. Also, they are making weapons above +10 stronger with increased stats and such. The new Vindictus/Mabinogi Heroes director is really pushing "Pay2Win" as the future of Vindictus.

They'll be coming along with the new runes to keep you from destroying your equip on a bad enchant scroll outcome.

Actually 11k attacks are kinda screwed rite now on the ex boat and fomorian base boats(hero),tried a Taonu with 3 11500ishs atks and failed by time out(60 mins).Ok that's a non end geared scenario, but when the **** hits the fan even well geared peeps will start suffering from this. And this comes from a non dps obessive player.

I'm sure you will be able to get on boats with subpar ATK/MATK, but you will be doing very little damage.
With this latest patch, weapon enhancement level plays a much larger role in how much damage you do, because it's one of the few ways to put you above 12,000. The other option is to enchant every single piece of your gear, but that will still give you less ATK/MATK than a highly enhanced weapon.
I usually take what I read on forums with a grain of salt, but I've experienced firsthand what I can do against Hero Mode Boat 6. Even if I play extremely well, land all my hits, and dodge everything, I will still do considerably less damage than a Fiona or Karok who die left and right but have 13,000+ ATK. In the other Hero Mode boats we did, I put out 30-40% of the damage. In Hero Mode Boat 6, I did 17%. That was playing extremely well. And it wasn't even against the higher DEF bosses.
So as DEF gets higher, we'll have to work harder--by which I mean grind more or pay for NX--to be as effective as we once were.
