Was unlucky with my cards. Bought a deck when I was in fifth grade near the end of the school year when the hype for the cards was huge. Moved two weeks into my 6th grade year, no one at my new school gave a damn about them (only about skiing and themselves, naturally, since Franconia and most people in it worship one of the biggest douches in history [Bode Miller]), so I now have them in one of my drawers collecting dust. Haven't even opened them since the end of that summer.
*Edit: That's like the summer of '01, for those of you too lazy to do the math yourself. D:

The gameplay was too difficult due to the requirement of draws being so specific.
Rather play a simpler game.

you can never multicolor in a pokemon deck
the cat saw deck builds in Nintendo Power
and they're all one color.
of course the cards for gaining back and pulling out cards exist
but what are your chances of those?

Dual colors are a must unless you're trying to get your ass kicked by a deck that happens to be an element of your weakness.

I used to love playing them.
Last year, about 2 years since I last played, someone lent me a deck and challenged me.
6-0

I went to leagues with my cards :>. I stopped going 2 years ago when no one ever went to them =/ . I won some tin's that had great income and that I actually sold the rare cards for around 40 dollars. It was hard untill 3 years of going to the same place because people and the decks that cost more then but 10 sets of 36 cards ._. . After 7 years, only 4 of them was when I truly enjoyed the crazy lol nub place :D
