If you're a Gamestop PowerUp Member Pro that is. Oh and you have to trade a Nintendo DS Lite, DSi, or a DSi XL.
Thinking about this... I'd like to buy it, but I'm saving money for a computer... so yeah WHAT DO.

You have to trade all 3 of those + 99$?
If you add up the resale value of those from things like amazon or ebay + 99$ is it worth it?

...Not worth it.
GameStop resells those consoles for $70 to $100 each.
That's about $210 to $300.
Prices for 3DS is about $150 effective on August 12th.
Definitely
NOT worth it.

even with just one of them, if you can resell it for close to 100$ like gamestop probably does, won't be worth it soon with the price drop.

According to email, it's this weekend only. Says you can do this, OR pick it up for new low price of $169.99

That's no his point though. What Osay's trying to say here is that you can sell your console for a fairly higher price than the discount you get for trading it in, and use the money you got from selling it along with your own to buy it.
For example, lets say I sold my DS Lite (which I would never do) for $100, and bought a 3DS (Which I already have, and would not buy a second one) for $170. Effectively, I basically "traded in" my DS Lite for more money to buy the 3DS, and would be getting it for $70 instead of having to pay $99 for trading it in at Gamestop.
Gamestop always tries to pull bullsh*t offers like this.

I got what he was trying to say Hitaki. I was just like, saying that you can already buy it for 169.99 this weekend.

which handheld do you have? cause it makes a difference, because you would not be able to sell a ds lite for anywhere higher than $50, because you can buy a new one, for $70 where I am.
so it depends, if you can sell, and have a buyer for your handheld, in upwards of $80 then don't take the chance with this promo. because you can save money when the price drops.

I'd rather keep my DS Lite for backwards compatibility with GBA games. :<
Plus, it makes for a really nice alarm clock.
Does the 3DS have alarm clock functionality, at least? I might buy one for that, I guess...

... are you serious? That's ridiculous!
I actually thought I was asking a rhetorical question there. :C
I don't think I'll be buying a 3DS now. I wonder if the PS Vita will have an alarm clock. >:(

I'll probably be getting both to be honest... 3DS might launch Majora's Mask soon. So yeaaahhhh. And the Vita, well I'm a PS fanboy huehue...
