I'm just curious if anyone here has at any point been interested in learning how to write software for those cool gaming devices we have, like the Game Boy, GBA, etc. Those are pretty cute little computers, in my opinion. :3
Feel free to elaborate!

There isn't really an option in the poll for me. The only "game development" I've done is with tiny games in Actionscript. The rest of my programming hasn't been games but demonstrating my knowledge through non-entertainment programs. I am going to university for Computer Science though, so I am definitely going to keep game development as a possibility.

Oh, I don't mean game development in general. I mean taking a device like, say, a GBA.. which most people assume can only play games companies make, and thought it would be cool to make your own code run on it. :P

In that case, I've been interested in it but I haven't pursued it.

When I was younger I wanted to, but not anymore.
Seems to complicated but not impossible since there are homebrews for most consoles that came out in the last 10 years or so.

If I cared about the devices themselves I'd like to play around with that, but my "own code" wouldn't be games, it would likely be useless stuff that just simply runs on it, just to see if I could do it or not.

I didn't mean interests in the games themselves, I meant in terms of you actually tinkering with the hardware and write stuff for it for fun.
