The price of items should be fair. Gold should have value. Accomplishments should mean something.

When you think about it, gold has virtually infinite value actually. Gold will never be practically useless until everyone has all the rare auction items, everyone has Rank 1 Synthesis, everyone has maxed out egos, and a few other applications. Those require feeding gold to NPCs, not to other players that are loaded with gold.

Furthermore, if you run Goddess Caliburn, you'll always want more gold.

In fact, great idea for a gold sink - Alchemy event where all alchemy skills rank at 2x speed. Encourage everyone to rank Synth. Or NPC life skill mats.
