I jut started playing TF2 last week and I dont understand these gears. Do I need to buy them? or I can randomly unlock them? Sofar I found a knife for sniper (dunno how I got it).
Are the gears based on achievement?

The short circuit is completely useless, just tested it on some bots and it took 6-8(or maybe 10) direct in your face shots to kill a scout.
It does 5 damage per shot. You are suppose to use it to destroy projectiles. D:<

Not impressed with the Short circuit.Honestly, it uses too much metal and fires too slow to block anything. your better off smacking things with your wrench and hoping someone takes out the person attacking you.
Gonna Scrap it :C
...
I want a DiamondBack D:

I like the Short Circuit. It's helped me a little bit. Most of the killing I've done with my Frontier Justice, Wrench, and Sentries. Stupid spies hanging around my Sentries while I beat them up with a wrench.
I managed to buy a Diamondback, I haven't really had a chance to use it though cause I suck at being a spy :/

I see a lot of Snipers use Machina. Is it really that good? I couldn't stand the inability to no-scope.
It's difficult for me to consider +15% dmg boost when that boost is a lot more useful with damages higher than 150 (115% = 172 dmg), and by then, it's already oneshotting or twoshotting people with the stock rifle.
