Calculating Royal Alchemist selection

  The title "Royal Alchemist" is an ancient and honorable one bestowed upon members with exceptional knowledge of Alchemy. Players must have at least rB Alchemy Mastery in order to apply for the Royal Alchemist position.
  
  Skills have a hidden multiplier which affects Royal Alchemist selection.
  
  

  1.2： Alchemy Mastery
  1.2： Alchemy Elemental Mastery
  1.2： Transmutation
  1.0： Chain Cylinder
  1.1： Water Cannon
  1.3： Flame Burst
  1.1： Wind Blast
  1.3： Sand Burst
  1.7： Frozen Blast
  1.0： Heat Buster
  1.3： Barrier Spikes
  1.5： Summon Golem
  2.0： Shock
  1.5： Life Drain
  1.0： Mana Crystalization
  1.0： Synthesis
  1.0： Fragmentation
  1.0： Metal Conversion
  1.9： Rain Casting

  
  
  The players rank in each skill is then modified by this hidden multiplier.
  
  

  rN - 1 point
  rF - 2 points
  rE - 3 points
  rD - 4 points
  rC - 5 points
  rB - 6 points
  rA - 7 points
  r9 - 8 points
  r8 - 9 points
  r7 - 10 points
  r6 - 11 points
  r5 - 12 points
  r4 - 13 points
  r3 - 14 points
  r2 - 15 points
  r1 - 16 points
  Master - 17 points
  

  
  
  In the event of a tie the player with the highest journal points will be chosen.
  
  

  Example:
  
  PlayerA has 36.8 points from the following skills,
  r1 Alchemy Mastery (19.2)
  r1 Water Cannon (17.6)
  
  They would lose to PlayerB who has 37.2 points from the following skills,
  rB Alchemy Mastery (7.2)
  r2 Shock (30)

  
  
  Current Royal Alchemists are required to obtain 60 activity points in order to be eligible for selection each week.

  Clay Alchemy, Fire Alchemy, Water Alchemy and Wind Alchemy all count individually. You can obtain 81.6 points by mastering all four of them.

  Just to add, as mentioned by Soluna in the Mabidata thread, this is merely a theory/model, but so far appears to be the most probable one. More test data is needed to validate it.

  No wonder I got RA the week I got shock and ranked it from F to 7. I'm surprised rain casting has such a high multiplier though. -was ranking that for the thunderstorm at rank 1-

  Same points, same journal, and vying for #100... it'll probably be decided on first letter of their name... A will get chosen before C... J before Y etc.

  It's not that surprising. While the data listed doesn't support this exactly, many of the multipliers do support something I expected from the beginning: Dumping AP into Alchemy skills is what counts. Rain casting has a fairly high AP cost, so it's worth more at the same rank when compared to Water Cannon or something. I'm surprised Heat Buster doesn't count that much, but oh well. :P Of course, the actual model here implies that having more ranks is actually what's important, but w/e. xd
