So I decided I'd go back to Vindictus now since Mabi is really messed up and I hear the story gets pretty good later on. I have a level 42 staff evie and she was pretty easy to play. My question...does it get harder? I like the game and all but I'm hoping it gets a bit trickier for staff evies. If the answer is a resounding NO I'll probably play my Sword Lann (around the same level). I'm not necessarily going for "What's the most difficult? I can handle whatever you throw at me." I just want more of a challenge than staff has offered so far.

Title is what she said. But no, it doesn't get all too much harder for staffs, mainly because you have the great corona and all. Survival rate is still top notch/tied for with Fiona. But staffs are still fun, I have a staff myself.

Great Corona...hehe...I might have to work on that. Well I'll probably continue my Evie since she has been fun so far. I'm not the most active so I'll probably have enough AP to branch into scythe as well if I want some more danger.

Yes and no.
Regular bosses are typically fairly easy, up until boat 6/7 where you fight Kakrish, Larken, Chiulin and Ingkara. Those are mostly the exceptions though.
However, your mileage on raid bosses will vary. The only hard raid bosses in the 50 range are Weeping Queen and Klaus. Once you hit the 60+ raid bosses though you might find yourself having a hard time at the start, but eventually they'll ease out. Except for maybe Glas.

You don't play evie if you want a challenge, simple as that.

Pft, I'll have you know that it takes skill to rapidly tap the space bar in critical times.

You can fight succubus when you hit lv50 too. But I don't necessarily recommend it...she's pretty hard.

Well I've decide to continue my Evie. If I don't find it challenging enough I can always branch into scythe.

Fixed
Scythe is not easy to play in the +50/60 tier

If you want a challenge, try fighting with noob armor or no armor at all. Most of your attack power comes from the weapon anyway, and if you can pull it off, you'll save on the repair bill.

Alternatively, try out Hero mode on Boat 6.
Or really, just try Hero mode on any mission (and if you're feeling really daring, try it with the equips you used around that level if you still have them).

I agree about Hero mode, but not about Boat 6 Hero. Boat 6 Hero is strictly a gear check, so you aren't getting any new difficulty out of that. All you will get is 'cheap' difficulty if you are somehow lacking in the attack department.
But no, outside of soloing random raids yourself there really is no challenge to the game.

Upon further examination... I think I might continue my Lann after all. I really love the sword's style of combat (all swords, fionas included (just don't feel like getting her through boat 4)). It gives a nice challenge with reactions and when I can dart in for my attack but still enough survivability to be fun. Besides, I want to practice being the nimble guy so I can be prepared for Kai (isn't he coming soon in Korea anyway?).

Well, unless I'm just really behind in Mabinogi heroes, they still haven't given an exact release date for Kai.
Back on topic. I personally would go with either Lann or Fiona for difficulty. Lann for speed(but beware in the higher level dungeons a lot of people don't want Lanns in their raids or even sometimes parties.) Fiona for just multi-tasking. You have to pay attention for when you can attack and when you need to guard/HS.

It's kind of sad that people kick Lanns because they assume they'll be bad. Some of the best players I've seen have been sword Lanns. I guess people just underestimate .6 seconds of invincibility.
