Cannot open game

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. When i try to open the game, it gets to the point after you click start game on the patcher, and the title screen opens. Right when i click start game on that screen, my game freezes and i get an error message. This all happens before my characters can appear, and i've had this problem since around when all the recent problems started in mabi. I was avoiding mabi since then, and i had forgotten about this problem untill today. It's really upsetting, because i was looking forward to getting on and rebirthing into my jumping in the rain card.

When i get this error message, the whole game goes white, and the message in the first screen stays up for a few seconds, then the second screen appears, and im forced to close the game.

Have you tried running it on different compatibility modes?

Go to the client.exe folder and right click it with properties>Compatibility tab>Check the run as whatever OS you want to pick from there, hit OK and then try and see if it works.

If not, do a complete re-installation.

What I posted in the other thread about it.

If this doesn't work, then you might want to check that your Antivirus program or Windows doesn't block Mabinogi and cause it to stop working. I'd also run it with Administrator privileges on your computer as well, in case.

Do i just select no? And can doing this harm my computer or my game in any way? I just wanna be sure, and im not trying to be doubtful of your advise, im just not comortable doing things like this to files on my computer without knowing if it wont have any side effects.

Select no if you haven't already, and see if it's able to be run. It doesn't harm your computer, it's just for that specific program that it runs as a different compatibility mode. You can disable this again if needed.

Which is the same thing i get even if i cick yes. I guess i will just have to re install, which i was hoping i wouldnt have to do, because i just recently spent 3 days trying to install a different game that kept messing up, so i didn't really want to have to do something like that again.

Are you running it with the client.exe application in your Mabi folder or the web launch? The background is kinda misleading.

Re-install is probably what you gotta do.

I'm using the web launch, was i supposed to be launching from the file in my mabi folder? Because you never said i had to. This window would pop up after i clicked start on the patcher window, so idk if it would make a difference.

I'm getting the exact same problem right now. I've done everything in this thread and others that seem to have the same problems and nothing works.
