Its not originality that makes this series its appeal.

Its the battle of sheer will power.

And the story is interesting. I read this yesterday and it was fantastic.

Not enough zombie series explores infighting during a breakout as well as this one does, and its very realistic in that regard. I've always said it: The greatest threat in a zombie apocalypse aren't zombies. They're humans.

Originality is overrated. It's the execution you want to look for. If there is ever anything you find original, I assure you there are at least 5 more people who can point out how unoriginal it is.

That said, I'm interested in checking this out at some point. I lost interest in the HSoTD manga early on because it had no idea how much it wanted to be survival-/character-driven and how much it wanted to be fanservice. I'm looking for a good manga to recapture my imagination for something as overly used as zombies, and the little I've seen of this one hasn't turned me away. Kinda sorta the way The Walking Dead won me over for live action (have not read its graphic novels, though people say they are tons better. Still, the series is plenty strong in its own right.)

Now I would like to ask.. what is there mush to test against a bunch of non-armed, non-trained people. Such kind of biological weapon should be tested on people of the army, people trained for war. Second I feel liek the sank the ship way too soon.. it's like the shot it down soon after the first infection started.. if they just wanted to test how the infection work, they could have done it in a much smaller scale, inside a lab or something[/SPOILER]

We'll have to wait a bit for any real answers. So far everything is based on speculation of the main character's part. And while everything leads to what he's saying to be true, there might be more to it than what we know of it.
