Greetings players,
DFO is currently running a security campaign asking everyone to change their password. If you have created a DFO character at some point, you may be included in this campaign so if you see a message asking you to update your password or possibly a login error, please update your password on the Account Settings page.

If people haven't already done so.

Nexon screwed my sis over, she only has 1 account on Maple and it's linked to a dead email. She's pissing off so hard at losing her Bishop right now.
Btw, this isn't just DFO. It's the Nexon passport in general.

Yes, it isn't DFO, but it's overall Nexon games and account sin general who have made a DFO character before.
I don't think this applies to the people that have never made a DFO character before, but I could be wrong. Even if someone has made the character and un-installed the game as well.
It's what the notice says, so I put whatever in the notice. It never said that it was DFO in general, which is why I changed the title to Password Update Campaign instead.

Are you playing right now? I'm getting a login error, as stated by last line of first post, but I changed my password. Is anyone else having log-in issues? As soon as I can get a screeny of the upload message I will update it here.
Edit: So it let me play ^.^ But something auto turns off my firewall and Defender, so now my computer is putting itself at risk (wtf?), happened right after I restarted, also running security scan and stuff. So in exchange for being able to play, my computer got screwed over.
Edit edit: Omg damn you Nexon, you gave me a virus. :shoe:

Why people insist on using dead mails for games they actively play is beyond me...

Sis made that email ages ago, forgot the password and made a new email, never switched the linked emails.
This may or may not apply to half a million other players.

I've had my Hotmail addresses I use to register accounts deleted before.

=_= its because some people like me have had their emails hacked and can no longer access them. even yahoo's stupid password recovery fails.

You can restore dead accounts last I checked. At the very least, I restored mine before.
The overriding point is caution though. When you sign up for something using your email, it only makes sense to choose your email carefully with lifespan in mind.

Unless you were like... 9, like I was at the time. You don't really think about passwords and emails then...

My entire account is useless now... The e-mail I used was killed when I changed my ISP. Can't change my password... Can't change my e-mail... Every. Little. ****ing. Thing. All because of this ****ing "Security Campaign" that isn't gonna do **** for anyone.

How exactly do I do this with live?

I just remade my accounts.
They said the e-mails weren't taken...

I can't remember. I just remembering my old hotmail address dying from non-use over a period of a couple of years then coming back and told it was a dead account. From there I had the option to restore it I think.
As I said before though, people really should think carefully about signing up for anything that relies on email. If the email account is compromised then it will cause issues.
