With today's official announcement of New Prince of Tennis getting a TV anime, it was also revealed that the series will be airing in January of 2012 on TV Tokyo affiliate stations. As mentioned in the previous coverage, the announcement was officially dated for around September 3rd, which coincides with the premiere of The Prince of Tennis the Movie: Eikoku-shiki Teikyuu-jou Kessen, but had leaked out early.
It was also announced that The Prince of Tennis OVAs will be edited into 30 minute episodes called The Prince of Tennis Best Matches and aired for the first time on TV Tokyo affiliate stations starting October 5th at 2550.
New Prince of Tennis is the sequel to The Prince of Tennis written by Takeshi Konomi and serialized in Jump Squared.
