This is the moment a pair of brazen Chinese thieves are caught on camera pickpocketing unwitting shoppers using chopsticks.
The two shifty dark-coated men can be seen patrolling a backstreet before sneaking behind shoppers armed with the traditional Chinese utensil.
But rather than using the chopsticks for their proper purpose, the shameless thieves use them to carefully prise items from the back pockets of unwitting shoppers.

Police in China believe gangs of opportunist pickpockets are using them to target busy shoppers, usually women laden down with heavy shopping.
It is unclear where the chopstick thieves were when they were captured on camera, but the trend is thought to have taken place in several Chinese cities.
The thefts across China are carried out in broad daylight in front of dozens of passers-by who refuse to intervene.
In one clip a woman wearing a black and white patched coat is unaware she is being robbed by a thief using chopsticks.
She walks away before the thief has a chance to steal her belongings
In another clip another woman is approached from behind by a pickpocket who grabs her mobile phone out of her white full-length coat.
He grips the phone between the chopsticks before placing it in a white handkerchief and walking away.
An onlooker said: 'It's so obvious what the gang are doing but no one does anything.
'This gang know exactly what they are doing and are highly skilled.
'By using chopsticks they avoid getting caught with their hands in the victim's pockets and don't leave finger-prints on stolen property.

How do they not notice or feel someone doing that?

What the hell are all those people doing... There is a guy chasing people with chopsticks and that's not suspicious?
What was his defense... "There was a grain of rice on her/his ass i swear!"

In China, no one cares. The thieves know that and that's why they do it in broad daylight.
They're highly skilled and organized too.
Btw, the reason why the victims don't notice is because they're wearing thick clothing or they're busy with something.
The people with the large coats don't realize they're being pickpocketed because the padding inside their coats dampens the feeling of the chopsticks. The delivery guy doesn't notice it because he was moving around and probably didn't pay attention to the feeling of his pants which would be normal during walking.

I actually find this perfectly normal. It happens in Malaysia too, not in daylight, but you can get mugged pretty easily if your outside at night, even with a friend. Especially women with purses, they'll just drive a motorbike pass you and snatch your purse. Happened to my sister once.
.______. Anyways, I can say these guys are pretty crafty.

New use for chopsticks.
Anywho, they get away with this the same way any other pickpocket does: Waiting for the right moment when people are distracted/occupied/wouldn't notice something like this because of their clothes/bag.

What the hell... why is everyone just watching?

^ Ta, in mainland China, no one cares.
That's pretty much the attitude and culture there. Everyone minds their own business because standing up and helping others is like shamelessly showing yourself off to the public.
