Help with sound

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. Hey, I just started playing this recently and would like to know something about in-game sound.

Is there a way to turn down only the in-game music? I like hearing my character yelling and breaking stuff, but I also like to rock it out to my own music. This works fine until I reach the bosses and their music starts, so I'd like to know how to change this since there doesn't seem to be a music volume on the options section.

As far as I can tell you can only control the master volume of the game.

You have windows, right? I'll just assume you do. Look here, first press the volume thing in bottom right corner:

Then you'll see a thing called "Mixer". Press it:

And that comes up. While you are playing Vindictus, there should be 2 V-signs, Vindictus and Vindictus Launcher. Lower the LAUNCHER to whatever volume you wish, raise the other volumes to what you wish, etc. Hope this helps!

Edit: Only sometimes the Launcher will appear, you can just lower both when it comes to it. Also, here's an example that might help:

Wouldn't that still affect the whole sound pack and not just the music? Like I said, I like hearing the sound effects. Thanks for your answers so far~

afaik there's only 1 control for sounds (music, ambience, sfx, voip) and they're all processed as .wav's.
it annoys me sometimes as well...i think there's a folder that has the actual mp3's or wav's or whatever that you could probably just remove/rename...

at work at the moment so i can't go looking for that folder atm...if it worked it would likely be something you'd have to doi everytime the game patched too.
