I dislike them. I really do. (FYI: Start of September = start of the Holidays for me, so shadup)
Not because I hate social interaction, don't get gifts anymore, or even because I'm not a very cheery person.. but because I can never do stuff to get into the spirit anymore.
I used to lurvvveee the Holidays. I used to like to decorate everything with fancy sh*t, make everything all cute and home-y, make everything smell nice.. you know, that sort of thing. I also used to bake when I lived at my b*tch Aunt's house-- she was rich and they liked eating sweets, so naturally I found a nice place to explore my talent and love of baking. For Halloween I made chocolate cookies with black and orange frosting, cakes with drawn on spiders and skeleton cookies. For Fall in general I made maple leaf cookies, cinnamon cakes and apple cider. For Christmas I made gingerbread crumbles, sugar-cookie snowflakes and snowball cupcakes. You get the idea, yeah?
And it was one of the small joys I used to have, and I'm not the type of person who experiences joy or even any happiness very often. (inb4 pessimism and emoness) While I do imagine it will change someday, I still can't help but miss it.
It probably doesn't help that I've been watching all sorts of holiday dessert videos and sh*t, but bah. BAH HUMBUG. ): <
tl;dr; I dislike the Holidays because they tend to require money, which we most certainly do not have. Just decorating my desktop and helping Mom set up a few gourds and spray some scented room spray ain't enough anymore. While I enjoy spending time with my Mom, I really miss being able to make little goodies for her and make the place look nice. It's one of the *very* few things that bring me a small amount of joy, and I miss it. So; I dislike the Holidays.
How about ya'll? :full:

I miss the holidays, but it's not like I get any presents or anything on any holidays, like on my birthday. Not because my parents cannot afford it, they just don't want to, and I'm still perfectly fine with that.
My mom would still bake a cake at the very least on my birthday, or if she doesn't she buys one. Personally, I love her orange home-made cake more than store bought, because it seems to have more care and thought put into it than store-bought ones.
I remember that I used to celebrate all those Christmas and Halloween and etc, wanting to decorate anything fitting with the occasion. But I grew tired of that a long time ago. My parents never wanted me to decorate in the first place, since we only put up a few lights and all for Christmas now, no longer a huge tree or anything in the living room.
I only love Christmas the most because I get to walk downtown and see all these streets all lit up at night when I go Christmas shopping for cakes and whatever. x]
Really, the only place to celebrate the occasions with people is probably at school, not the best place, but I don't get along with the people at school so well, since I'm not really that social in general at school.
Sure that people may not be the happiest people in the world. But at least I know where I stand and where I can celebrate if I wanted to, even if it had to be by myself.
In any other occasions, I love the holidays, minus the fact people pick at me for not getting any presents, which is quite a terrible reason to.

They really don't bother me, to be honest. I actually look forward to the FOOOOOOOOOD and family time I get to spend. The only part I hate is the gifts.. I'm not a good gift picker for others.
Christmas is a hassle though, simply because I have to jump from my Dad's house, to my mom's, and over to my boyfriends. It's my goddamn birthday let me relax :shoe:
I still love it :)
Fall/Winter put me in the best of moods.

Holidays = awkward cause no one talks/takes an interest in me. Would much rather spend it with friends and only come back for meals and leftovers.

Family doesn't celebrate holidays here. It would just be a normal day for everyone in my family that currently lives here.

The best memories come from eating around the table, talking while at it.

I wonder how many people in the world still have a normal family where everyone gets along at the table for dinner and talk about normal stuff like school and err.... Stuff.

I love the holidays because it gives me a reason to buy everyone presents. My family, especially my parents/brother, refuse to let me buy them anything unless it's a holiday.
