How to download a MIDI off a website?

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

When I click the "download file" link, it just leads me to a new window with the midi file playing with the help of Quicktime player. How do I download the files so that it will save on my computer?

Tried right clicking and saving from there. Nope.

Anyway, does clicking on it open a blank tab with the file playing in it? If so, you can try saving it using Ctrl+S. If that doesn't work, then disable the Quicktime plugin and try again.

i dunno why i still got quicktime, it was just there along with my itunes. ok so instead of disabling quicktime, i decided to switch browsers and it turns out that firefox was the problem. lame ol' internet explorer was able to save it onto my desktop.

Unfournatly Quicktime is still alive thanks to bloody Apple and it coming bundled with their iTunes software. Wonder if Chrome would have done the trick instead of IE?
