So, ive been using hp drain until i die, wasting lots of valuable hp pots fighting the doppleganger. Out of the 4 times ive ran it, only 1 time has it ever gotten to the second stage after i hp drained it.
Most of them i hp drained 2-3 times too, is there any way to stop it from failing? i ran out of hp pots on the one run i got it to work which was after i restarted my computer, but after restarting again cause my second try had 3 hp drains before i gave up, i decided im just not going to try anymore, wasting 100+ hp pots a run does not sound fun, though i am getting better at dodgeing im done for now.

Use my method to fight doppelganger with pets.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jqmSHuzObc
[1st part]
No video demonstration but I'll just give a summary...
Put the life drain skill on your hotkeys. Equip the given cylinder and dark life drain crystals.
The important thing is to first try to reduce your hp in some way. The safest is to use a windmill move (-10% hp) and then keep running away from the boss, until it uses swirling light skill. When it tries to taunt you with some action (hands beckoning you to come over and challenge it), use Andras' musical box on it.
When it seems to be in pain, use the life drain skill. Repeat until 2nd part commences.
[2nd part]
This is a hard part. When you do damage to it, you'll get damage to yourself as well. Extra damage makes you go into deadly, you will not die unless through attack from the creature and its summons.
I think the idea is to use the dark life drain crystals (extras from summon drops) on the boss, but this is not a good idea if you have low-rank life drain skill.
The video shows a method shared by a friend who was doing the same mission at the same time (the person PM-ing in the background). You need pets to do this.
This is probably the most efficient method to get through this annoying boss.
Get the pet to attack it so that the attention of boss is focused on the pet instead of you. Load smash and then smash it. As soon as your smash is done, RUN AWAY BEFORE BOSS NOTICES YOU and when you have run some distance away, desummon your pet as soon as possible, before it gets knocked out by the boss' alchemy attacks.
The boss will hold an alchemy cylinder, the other multiples will hold the same weapons as you.
Using the demigod transformation is a good idea since you will gain extra speed. Helps to do this trick efficiently.
The only trouble will be being noticed by the summons as in the video, although this does not always happen. I was unlucky to encounter this. The way to deal with multi-aggro is through windmill, or play dead + pets.
Play dead is a little slow BUT if you are noticed by the boss, you will have to use it and wait for it to walk away.
You can die up to 3 times and have Morringhan resurrect you BUT if you die beyond those 3 times you need someone to advance feather you.

Just keep life draining. I kept trying, and it will eventually work. Think of it like taming, where there is a chance for success.

Hm, well then ill just blame it on nexon and keep trying, getting better at the first part at least, im no longer hopping off my ostrich to use the box, only to realize he was loading his cylinder and not gesturing.

Generally after the light attack it usually stops and gestures, but it's very difficult to tell.
It's somewhat better if you go to doppelganger when it starts to gesture.

I had the same problem as you. I think it has something to do with your equipment. I went in naked on my fourth time, and got it with the first crystal.

some information about g10 final:
in order to drain the demi god power, you have to use hp drain so that it completely fills up your hp bar. even then it might fail if you are unlucky.
even though wiki tells you to get on a mount, don't do that, instead let ur pets attack the doppleganger and play dead until it starts charging up a demi god power. Whether it is spear of light or fury of light, walk in circle around the doppleganger, even a human can dodge without getting hit. this way you won't miss the gesture when the doppleganger taunts.
also zoom in the doppleganger after it is done with its demi god skill, it will be easier to see if it is taunting.
generally, doppleganger will taunt at you after fury of light.
*use ctrl + click to easily use eletha's oregal.

I generally just ran around with the music box loaded. By going in a circle it never actually got close enough to hit me with anything. Made it real easy to play it as soon as the thing taunted~

I'm not sure if you already knew but, when you HP Drain the doppelganger, you need your HP to heal to full to get into second part.

That wasn't on the wiki when i was doing my g10 last night, but i found that out about, 5 times in when i realized "hey, i get the cutscene a lot more when i dont drain after being hit by a lightspear instead of just bolting it first"
But anyway, finished it yesterday at like 2 am central time. Also learned a few hours later that i cant use demigod if it has no skill exp, which sucks for me because im level 47 or so, dont think i can level much more past that too.
