About Myself
I thought I make a guide based on my experience of how I started out. I did research on Mabinogi before I played so I won't make any mistakes and such. And after almost 3 months, I'm a total close to 500 with a exploration level of over 200. Not bad huh? Although I did card rebirth 3 times. This is my first guide so go easy on me.
Introduction
This guide can basically give you over 200 AP+ when you're done in a matter of 3 weeks at the least or more depending on how long you play. It takes advantage of the new system Nexon have made for beginner's who starts out. They added in more things however though that I might not know of.
Tips:
If you're going to be a Elf/Giant. Then ignore what I say about G1-G2 and get your transforming quest right away!
Requirements
1. You can't do this with any character however. You can only do it with your first character who's total isn't over 100. Base wise and exploration level wise.
2. At least 1 mount. AT LEAST. You get a free mount but that will only last a week. This mount will help you get to places. Decoy. And such. More pets, the better.
3. Patience. This actually takes time and is boring.. in the beginning. So I suggest you have patience, however in the end, it all pays off.
4. An idea of how to play Mabinogi's mechanics and battle system. You need at least some basic knowledge. I can't explain everything.
I'll add more when I feel like there should be more.
Premium Service for Beginner's
When your total is less than a hundred for both base level and exploration level and have no other characters in that account over 100 as well, you receive premium service.
This premium service will provide you with potions and nao stones every day in which you can use to survive longer in dungeons or get through harder dungeons. Nao stones will heal your Hp and revive you all at once, plus blessing your equips so your equips can last twice as long which then equals less repairs.
Premium service also provides low death tolls exp loss, more exp gain, and other benefits such as opening a shop. It also allows you to free rebirth once a day. And that's what we're going to be taken advantage of.
Starting Out! Around 1 Week
When starting your character, make sure it's the only character in your account with a total starting at 1/1. This should give you premium service for free.
1. Make your character, start at age 17 for more AP.
2. You'll start at Tir. Do the necessary quests that gives AP/Gold/EXP. You can check your quest tab by clicking the letter "Q".
3. Do Ranald's quests for Str gain. You can only do these quests on basic (1-99) total. This will also teach you basic understanding of the battle system.
4. After that, continent warp to Quilla and learn how to Lrod. Depending on which race you are, you might need some help breaking the caps. Level 5. 10. 15. And such. If you're too lazy, level 5 is a good stopping point but it's recommended for at least level 10 Cap.
5. Buy a Lrod from Voight in Cor. And go exploring near Cor. When a monster summons, ignore it and move on. Pick up the artifacts you get from treasure chests.
Tips: If you can, ask a friend to raft for you. One raft can make you finish easily. And you're only ignoring the monster because you can't kill it.
6. After getting a certain amount of artifacts, appraise at Voight, restore, and exchange for gold and exp. You'll learn which to not restore since some don't give exp even when you exchange. Get to at least Expl level 7 - 10+. Depending on the expl level, you can finish sooner or later.
7. The goal here is to stay in Cor and rebirth over and over after getting more expl levels.
Make sure to stop rebirthing when your total of "expl" is at a total of 90. AT LEAST 90. That's when you stop for now. So your total would look something like this 20-30/90. (Level/ Expl level)
Tips: If you like, try rebirthing to each destiny to receive some additional skills that you won't get unless you rank up a certain skill. Some skills require you to hit certain levels to get the skill. For example, Flame Burst require Rank D Water Cannon and Rank D Wind Blast to get but if you have Alchemist Destiny and hit level 9. You get it for free, that's extra AP you can use on different skills. So it's better to know what kind of road you're leading.
Afterwards
So you got a decent amount of AP, now pump it all to Rank A/9 Smash, Rank 9 Windmill, Rank B-9 Combat, Rank F Assault Slash. Rank F Counterattack. Those are the basic skills you'll need. And don't worry about ranking up these skills, because if you don't want them, you can always reset them for free by talking to Duncan, they'll all be Level F though. (Only for character who's total is less than 100 for both total/expl total. For now these skills will help you advance through G1 - G2, G9 - G12. Generation Quests. Make sure your destiny is Combat so you can use the Aspiring Warrior title that gives 25 Str! Because you won't be rebirthing anymore going through this.
1. Get Dual Gladius and upgrade them slowly as you go through G1 - G2. G9 - G12. (Skipping G1 is not recommended.)
2. Get a sword and Shield as your second weapon slot for when things get rough.
3. Begin G1 and finish it. Finish G2 afterwards so you can obtain Paladin. That skill will come in handy a lot of times. And it's better to get it early since ranking it up requires level. The sooner, the higher the rank later on.
4. Begin G9 - G12, finish all of them in a row without rebirthing.
Tips: Take your time but take too much and you'll be over age 20. (Free rebirth but less AP gain after each age up) So depending on how long you'll finish this. Your last rebirth might be lower than age 17. Lets say you take 4 weeks to finish G9 - G12, then you want to be at age 13 on your last rebirth after you finish your expl levels. More AP gain from aging to. Don't worry though, this isn't technically your last free rebirth. Once you hit 17 again you'll be able to rebirth again when your total is 99/99.
Also take advantage of the free Nao stones. They'll revive you even in solo missions. You'll get at least 3 more each day if your total is lower than 100 on both total and expl. They can reach up to to of 9 - 15 stones I believe if you don't use them. Save them up for certain bosses.
Conclusion
When you're done with G1-2, 9-14. You're able to use persona's, transform, demi god skills at a low level. Now save up those levels for Demi god and don't use them till they're at least Rank 9.
Your total should look something like this now, 60+/90. Now you got a good amount of AP plus you finished the Generations based on levels. Some people finished it wasting a lot of pots, money, and time but you finished it pretty easily and quickly.
Now rebirth again to whatever destiny you want depending on you, remember to reset your AP if you like, and make your total reach up to 99/99 if you can. It could be 99/95+ if you're too scared to risk it since expl levels pretty easily.
This way, depending on how much levels you can get, your total would look like this after your free rebirth. 140/105-110. That's over 200 AP+. Added with the AGE AP, plus the AP from starting at age 17, and the AP from some quests.
Pro's and Con's
Pro's:
1. More rebirths equal longer duration for Paladin/Dark Knight/Falcon/Giant. Around 10 - 15+ Rebirths.
2. A lot of AP gain just starting out, matching up to people who played for 2months +.
3. You finished the generation quests that a lot of players had difficultly completing, using little to no pots.
4. You got skills that would require other rank up skills to get, that saves AP plus time.
5. You got transform and demi god at a low level, so when you're a higher level, it'll be a higher rank. So you're able to use it more than others who barely just completed it.
6. You're able to enjoy the storyline of G9 - G14 without forgetting what happened because you started and finished it quickly while others had to wait.. a while to finish.
7. You don't know it but you save yourself a lot of time, a lot of money and gold, and a lot of frustration. Who knows, you could have saved yourself from breaking your computer. G9-G14 can be that annoying.
Con's:
1. Takes a while but worth it in the end.
2. Grinding the generation can be annoying too.. but also worth it in the end.
3. If you don't have friends, it might be hard to do some of the quests. But if you ask people for help or join a guild in the meanwhile, they might be happy to help you. Choose wisely since you have to wait a week to join another guild.
4. Less exp gain from the Shadow Missions since you're on Basic but like I said, you're getting free rebirths anyways. Totally worth it. After you hit Intermediate, you can use that time to do SMs on Tara/Tails which offers gold too for all that hard work. Most SMs from Generation quests only offers exp.
Some of these are kind of.. Pro's ish. :]
End
This pretty much it. I'll add some more information, links to help out other people later. I kind of maybe rushed it so I might be missing some stuff or overlook it. I didn't want to get into too much details like how to do G1 - G2, or getting the transformation quests for other races since you can check on Mabi Wiki.
If you guys read it, tell me what you like/dislike. So I can improve and do better. Maybe provide links for me that I can put up here to help others. Thank you very much. This is also based on my experience, if you like to share yours, you can and I could pretty much put it up here. Hope you guys enjoy using my guide. :]
