I was just curious, what countries do you think have some of the most badass national anthems? They can be fictional, but real ones would be interesting.

Well, I like Canada's, but most people here have probably already heard it. :)
Otherwise...

Gee, I wonder what would happen if I went riding through an American neighborhood bumpin' that?
Trolololololololo
But honestly, I like the Canadian anthem.

Japanese National Anthem is not "cool"...but very different. I like different.
Chinese anthem has a nice tune. =) So does USA's anthem
Yoorah already mentioned Canadian Anthem and I agree. =)
Anyone heard "The Internationale"? It's a famous socialist/communist anthem translated into many languages. Its tune is quite pretty and the lyrics are meaningful. Don't be too discouraged by the communist thoughts.
My parents knew the song in Chinese, and my professor in Poli Sci played it in class as well.

Does it have to be
badass? Because I generally don't like badass national hymns. I prefer stuff like the German (
even if it's more like a drinking song and anachronistic in its full form), Norwegian or (
unofficial) Hessian hymn (
which sadly has no good vocal version on the internet).

Translated from Russian or French? That distinction is pretty important because one glorifies battle while the other is pacifist. But yeah it's pretty cool. Its message isn't really restricted to socialists though, every Socialdemocrat or even Liberal who doesn't approve of it probably doesn't understand his own ideology.

I think the Original Internationale was written in French...I know the Chinese version used the Russian translation.

Canadian National Anthem for sure.
When my whole school gets up to sing it in the gymnasium in sync, it gives off the feeling of tranquillity and peace. =s

Snap, I always had to sing the Canadian national anthem Monday and Friday morning announcements. O:
Of course, being in a French immersion school, we also sang it in French, and that's the version I prefer more.
As for the Philippines--

TBH, I only know the Philippines anthem cause of I watch every one of Pacquiao's fight. Have not memorized it though, and don't want to either. Iv'e been going to a french school from primary-highschool, so maybe that's why we don't do that?
