I use windows 7 so I'm assuming you would know what screen that is, a popup came about some update, clicked OK(and it popped up in the middle of me typing) so everything, my browser, my apps, my shortcuts, everything got moved to the bottom 3 inches of the screen.
Manually dragging doesn't work, there's like a wall right above the 3 inches, checked my screen resolution, whatnot, now I'm on my sissy's comp waiting for my own comp to do a system restore, any tips?
Edit: Fawwwwk server restore screwed up my desktop*, no gadgets, can't access control panel.

An update on what though? Graphics card? And did you let it update fully?
And since some programs and applications are programmed to appear in certain places, I don't think there it much for you to do about it, unless making the resolution bigger so you could perhaps see the stuff may help, if you aren't already at your maximum resolution.
Usually, W7 remembers where your original positions of your last opened pages/applications or whatsoever, and if you haven't opened it there and closed it at that exact spot, then I don't know how you can fix it. Perhaps, if you can reach a window by hiding off the bar at the bottom of your screen, do so...And what you say being it like a wall seems like W7 will make it stuck there as it remembers the location you closed it at/windows positions, if you closed those applications/programs there.

It's an update on Java. From my Runescape days.

What about moving your taskbar to another spot, and seeing if you can find a window to drag it? Still a wall there?

Let's see, so far, no browser, no control center, no task bar, shortcut position is normal. Undoing system restore...
Problem solved.
