So, I got written up today.
You see, I called out last sunday. Why? Because I just got back in my house (which flooded a second time within a month) to help my dad out. So, after around 2 hours of working, I realized I was going to be there a lot longer.
With this train of thought, I called my workplace (CVS) to tell them I couldn't make it because I thought my house a was a little more important than my 8.25 an hour 5 hour shift job. I talked to my boss, and he said I had to get someone to cover for me. I was like, alright, well let me have some numbers of people who aren't working today to see if anyone can cover for me.
You know what he said? He said it was my responsibility, not his, and then we hung up. So, in the end I only called 3 people, which were working/couldn't cover for me. I come into my shift today, and like a couple hours later, assistant manager Nory calls me upstairs. He proceeds to tell me how since Dave isn't here, he has to write me up. He also said a bunch of crap which is obvious, and how they would gladly give me numbers so I could call people to cover for me. This pisses me off.
As soon as he said that I told him what Dave had said, and he really didn't have anything to say about that. He skipped subjects. I signed the papers, but like it was just so frustrating. I called out, I didn't have numbers to call, and all my co-workers though it was ridiculous for me to get written up after calling out and saying I wouldn't be there. I've done this before, so yeah.
And here's another story; my shift supervisor Amanda, whom I hate very much, is like a perfectionist. Which is completely fine. But after coming back from my break, my Co-Worker, George, is up at the register. I ask him, are you still facing, he replies with a yes, so I go like well go do your thang. Just like that, because I came back from break and since I'm the main cashier I was giving him the okay to go finish his facing so that when he's done I could do what I had to do.(Being Garbage and returns).
This is when Amanda opens up her big mouth and says: "That really bothers me"
Me: What does?
Amanda: When you try to take over my shift. You do that all the time.
At that point, I was sorta speechless and like, awkwarded out cause i didn't wanna argue with her. So I just sorta turned around.
Like what the f*ck man. Me, taking over her shift? Because I ask how far my co-workers are with their sh*t so that I could get it done and not have her b*tch at me to do it before I leave? I was soooo pissed at her at that point. UGHHHH
/endrant
Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong. I don't give a sh*t.
I love you Emily.
tl;dr: Manager is an asshole for writing me up for his lack of management, and shift supervisor is a 30-year-old b*tch who still works at CVS as a shift supervisor, who needs to stop assuming and PMSing everytime I come into work.

I actually really liked my job up until recently. They're so inconsiderate. They don't care what the f*ck happens to me, as long as they have someone to work my 4-5 hour shifts.
Amanda actually quit, to work at 5 and below, and then came back like out of nowhere. Probably because she got fired for being fat and ugly.

I admire the fact that you still work there.
I woulda never been able to listen to that without raging and throwing a fit

Lol I feel your pain man.
They gave **** to a cashier for requesting off a week here and there cause he plays sports and has a life, and management flipped out.
And when I request off, the rare times that I do, its always moooooonths in advance and they always give me a 40 hour work week, which is the maximum full-time can do. But when I don't request off a day or two that week I have 36-38 hour work week. The hell.

I really need this job. It pays better than all my friend's jobs.

That's really f*cked up.
I'm still a high school student, so they don't put me on too much. But I DO work on weekends.
Not only that, but also the weekends means 4-9, 5-10. At night, like morning is one thing, but holy sh*t, really? the night time?
Currently, I don't even have the weekends to look forward too.

How much do you usually get when you receive paychecks, if you don't mind me asking. And don't feel the need to share if you don't want to.
I get around $200-$250 every two weeks.

Ouch. I applaud you for at least standing up to something like that. Just not looking forward to the weekends is pretty harsh, especially if you work hard in high school, and the work hard at work. The cycle feels so endless if you don't enjoy at least one of those things.
Except, I don't get how Amanda needs to always get her shifts. She can live without them, geez. Some people just say the most unnecessary things, and what a horrible time to have said it too.
At first, I thought the boss was being good at first having to let you get someone to cover for you, but really, in the end, that human is fricking greedy.

This is why working retail sucks. I used to have to deal with this at work except I was always the one being called in to cover others which I didn't mind cause heck more money for me.
My managers were generally good. Helped that the HR was a relative of mine ;) There was only one manager who I didn't like that much.

Can't say I know what you're going through, but I've heard horror stories my mom's had working at the Lowe's here.
But I love you, and hope it gets better~

I think you're understanding is wrong. What she meant by taking over her shift, was that since she's the supervisor for the night, she felt as if I was trying to do her job.
And to be honest, the boss that had to write me up, he really likes me. He just wasn't sure what to say after I told him that the STORE MANAGER wouldn't supply me with phone numbers to call.

I like working with people. Starting conversation, helping people out. I'm a real people person, but ugh. My managers are just such a bother to work with.
