Hello Zyrus from Alexina Here. Today's guide is on Pot poisening and its benefits/drawbacks and how it can make your gameplay stronger and better.
Now as we all know Mabinogi is a game without specific classes, but we tend to play a specific class anyways due to our personal style. I am a mage, who also likes alchemy and some melee.
Pot Poisening: A state in which you acheive from using (AKA spamming) pots. Those can be HP/Stam/MP or combination of them.
The following are the effects of using these pots after your pot poisened:
HP pots: -int, -will
Stam Pots: -will
Mana Pots: -Str
Each stage of pot poisening will increase the efficacy of the pot.
Stage 1: It feels like the potion works better than before :100%-130% efficacy
Stage 2: This potion is effective! : 130% efficacy
Stage 3: This potion is clearly effective, but it feels weird somehow : 130%-160% efficacy
Stage 4: The potion has some side effects 160% efficacy (officially pot poisened)
Stage 5: The potion worked as it should, but it had some bad side-effects too: 160%-200% efficacy
Stage 6: Anymore of this potion is dangerous: 200-300% efiicacy.
Ok now that we know the basics where do we go from here?
Tragic Hero Enchant Build (credit goes to MisterYuri) The Tragic Hero - Mabinogi Guru Forums
The strongest melee/range usaged of pot poisening is a human character who is a Dark Knight (BK,DK,CK, Infra). You can extend your transformation (and all the bonus str or dex) for a unlimited amount of time. I called this Infinite Knight. Since you will be spamming pots to keep your transformation going you will get into pot poisening fairly fast.
Using the enchants and setup from the Tragic Hero Build(and your transformation skills) you will outpower any other melee character in game in terms of max damage for simular skill sets. If you should get a dex roll and want to range you may want to make a MAX damage and critical enchanted set for that Infinite Knight.
Reccommended Intermediate range set: Fox Wild Boar
2 access = +14 max potential
Clothes, Gloves, Boots, =+21 max potential
Stiff Wild Boar tailcap =+3 max potential +10% crit
Stiff/Lizard Raven LB =+8 max +10% crit (you can swap your favorite range weapon)
+46 max damage potential and +20% crit
Recommended Adv Range set :
Light Armor - Ancient Darkness = +27 Max potential
Gloves - Wooden Needle Elegant = +12 Max +11% Crit
Boots - Diamond Raven = +14 Max Potential
Helm -Stiff Wild Boar =+3 Max Potential +10% Crit
Accessory - Diamond Wild Boar = +9 Max potential
Weapon - Lizard/stiff Revolver Crossbow or Lizard/stiff Spike LB (or your choice)
+65 Max damage potential and 31% crit + weapon max (Spike +14 Revolver +18)
The Mana Master
Now for all you mages out there Pot poisening creates a incredible advantage over other builds.
At the deepest level (stage 6)of pot poisening you get 300% efficacy for each mana pot. This means that a MP 100 is now a MP 300!!!! Here is how to use this to your advatage.
1. Spamm stam 30 pots from the healers until deep into pot poisening.
2. Keep stacks of stam pots in your inventory to use if you fall out of stage 6 poisening.
3. Do not even put HP pots into your inventory. Hp pots decrease INT state and therefore will reduce your magic damage dramatically.
4. Use mana shield as your HP bar. Keep this on constantly as you run dungeon/mission. Keeping it full should be easy with 1 or 2 pots at most.
5. Use elementals to your advantage. If your running a shadow mission enchant yourself with ALL fire elementals. This will reduce the damage you take (against that precious mana pool) to almost nothing and elementals do not affect the damage of your spells (mage advatage over other builds).
6. Wear a mana reduction set. To get this you need 10% mana reduction. The best way is Karis Shoes, Magic Shool Uniform, and Broad Brim Feather Hat.
7. Place all mana increasing enchants that you can (Willo Wisp is a easy one to get and use).
8. Upgrade a shield fully. Beholder or dragon shield recommended, but Kite or Hetero Shield will do just fine.
9. Cap mana shield and get your int to 300 as fast as possible (not as hard as it sounds). Mana is not only your attack but your life now. With 300 int and r6 mana shield you take about 33-40 damage per 100 damage given. Thats better than defense.
10. Use pets to heal yourself imbetween rooms if you get hit into your HP bar. NO HP pots.
11. Alchemy skills as backup are your friend. Learn barrier spikes to r1 and you can hide behind them while you charge those magics. Since Alchemy damage is not calculated by stats being poisened all the time does not matter.
12. Think about ranking defense. More def = more mana not used as HP.
13. Don't bother trying to melee anything...you have -100% str. Melee is only a delay tactic for Mana Master.
A stack of MP 100 = 3k mana which 2-3 stacks would last most players even through the harder dungeons solo.
Hope you enjoyed my guide on maximizing your characters through pot poisening with the Inifinate Knight and Mana Master Builds.
